The Untold Secret

Chapter Two

Amelia's house at 6:30 a.m.

Amelia woke up fresh feeling as a daisy. She took a quick shower, got dressed, fixed her makeup and hair, then decided to go down to the kitchen and make her own breakfast. When she entered the room, her father Roland was sitting at the end of the dining table while his girlfriend Candy sat to his left. Roland was reading the paper and eating a big healthy breakfast.

"Good morning daddy." Amelia said to her father and kissed his cheek as she passed by him.

"Good morning my beautiful rose. Ready for try-outs today?" Roland asked her.

"You bet I am." Amelia cheerfully said. She got a bowl, a packet of frosted Cheerios, and the milk and fixed it all together. She also grabbed herself a cup of coffee, then sat down with her father and Candy.

"I'll be coming to your try-out today. I want to see my princess be the best she is." Roland said to Amelia.

"Oh daddy, you know I'm always the best," Amelia smiled to herself then lowered her voice, "that Katherine girl better not try to show up. She'll just make an embarrassment out of herself." She then giggled lowly.

"Just don't be too hard on her." Roland smirked at his daughter.

Amelia playfully gasped as she put a hand on her heart, "daddy! When have I ever been hard on poor little miss gothy girl?" She and Candy laughed at the comment knowing it was sarcastically delivered.

"That's my girl." Roland chuckled.

"We wouldn't want anymore 'accidents' to happen." Candy winked at Amelia.

Amelia then looked at her phone seeing it was 7:20, "oh shit, look at the time! I need to go! Love you daddy." As she picked up her school bag, she kissed her father goodbye then ran out the door to the car where the driver was waiting for her.
