I went behind their house and saw that Ran's room indeed had a window, with a tree nearby that looks sturdy enough to support a boy or girl our age.
How convienent!

I climbed up the tree, and knocked on Ran's window.
This is hard because I hate heights.
That was the main reason why I declined to go to Mount Everest or the Statue of Liberty.

Ran was surprised to see me.
She opened the window, and now I can fully see her beautiful face.
She brushed off the hair covering her face, due the wind blowing.

"(Y/N)...? Why are you up here?" she asked.

"I want to take you on a date. Just you and I. Regardless of what your dad says."

"B-but..." Ran protested. "My dad..."

"Ran? Please," I told her, holding her hands, making sure I also had a good balance on the tree.

She began to blush.
"All right. Regardless of the consequences, as well. If my dad gets mad, so be it. Our love cannot be put to the side."

She climbed on the tree, and we slowly made ourselves down.
Phew, I thought I'd comedically fall down the tree, but I didn't.

Ran and I both began to walk, holding hands, after a quick kiss when we made it back on the ground.

*Ran's POV*

"Where are we going?" I asked him.

"Just a place I know you'll love. Trust me."

He smiled at me, and I felt the butterflies in my stomach.
Me makes me feel so happy.
Even if I will be in big trouble when I get home, I can't let that get in the way.
It's time for me to be a rebel for (Y/N). Just him.
Because he's my cause.

Location: Flower Field

Hm? We're at a flower field? There's hills and flowers farther than the eye can see... It's beautiful... So many wildflowers.

(Y/N) took out items from the basket I just noticed he was holding.
A whole blanket, some food, and some drinks.

"Our date is a picnic?" I asked.

"Did I do something wrong?" he responded.

"No, no! I love this place! We'll have a great time here."

He began making a sandwich, with the usual ingredients. However, the tomato was notably missing.
He held it up to me.

"Open up," he said.

"Wh-wha-?" I stuttered. "Are you trying to feed me?!"

"Well, yeah! Is that weird? I... If you don't want to, then I'll just--"

"No, it's okay," I said.

I bit into the sandwich he had in front of me.
I guess this is okay...
The food, I mean. Wait, no, it's heavenly...!

What is this taste?!
Aah, it's the familiar taste of picnic food. Can't be beat!

(Y/N) laughed. "You look cute, Ran."
