"Smart and cute." I reply shrugging and I pick up my bag and leave the locker room without seeing her response at my ignoring the question.

"Hey Rosalie. How was class?" I say once I see her outside the gym doors waiting. She turns and rolls her eyes at me and releases a faint sigh. I laugh and bump her hip with mine.

"Cheer up it's the end of the day and you can go home and do whatever it is that makes you happy and this place will be nothing but the past and maybe tomorrow will be a better day." I say having heard that same phrase many times before. She walks with me when I start heading to my locker.

"What did you guys do in gym?" She asks and I raise my brow in confusion at her question.

"Are you really interested or are you just making small talk?" I finally ask once I get my locker open and grab what I need and putting it in my bag and then I grab the paper lunch bag and shut and lock it locker.

"I guess it was small talk then." I say chuckling at her slight frown when I look at her because she didn't answer. Shit, even her frown is adorable. She smiles when she looks at the paper bag and she shakes her head and looks at me with a smirk.

"I'm not very good at small talk." She admits after awhile and I nod wondering to myself what I should say to that.

"I understand. Sometimes I have that problem too when I'm getting to know a new person, so don't worry about it. Sometime just being near the person is enough. You'll think of things to say eventually and you'll find common ground. Like for instance you like working on cars and I happen to be without one right now and I need a ride." I say grinning at the smile that grew on her face.

"That was a very sly way in asking for a ride." She says and I shrug.

"I don't think I've heard that before. I didn't hear a offer, so shall I ask someone else. I bet it wouldn't be very hard to get a ride home. This town seems like it's very accommodating to not leaving people stranded or the chief of police's daughter stranded for that matter." I say and realize I'm rambling but when I look at her she doesn't seem to notice. In fact I don't even know if she was paying attention to me because she's starring at her phone.

I decided to let her be and walk over to Jasper and Emmett with hopes that they'll take the samples in their car so it doesn't have to go in Rosalie's.

"He guys would one of you take this home with you." I ask while holding out the bag and they both turn up their noses at it and I chuckle.

"Oh. Come on. Not you guys too. It doesn't smell that bad. You can even put it in your trunk and you won't even notice it." I say and Emmet moves first with a huge sigh before taking it with two pinched fingers making me laugh.

"You owe me for this and I promise you that I'll be collecting in the future." He says wiggling his eyebrows and I step back in mock horror.

"Ew. No, never going to happen." I say shuddering and I start to walking away to Angela and her friends who are still gathered around their cars talking. I hear Jasper laughing loudly and I get two steps and I feel a warm hand in mine and I turn and see Rosalie.

"I'll drive you home." She says then let's go of my hand and starts walking to her car. I turn to follow and I see all of her siblings are already in their cars.  Huh, that was quick. I think to myself following Rosalie.

She goes to the driver side and gets in and I feel like she's in a bit of a mood so if have to tread carefully. I get in and put my bag between my legs on the floorboard and shut the door gently and put on my seatbelt. "Do you know where I live or do you need directions?" I curiously ask and turn to see her start the engine.

"I know where the Chief's house is." She states and yup she's definitely moody about something.

"Are you okay? I hope I didn't say something to upset you." I ask and I see she rolls her eyes and shakes her head as she pulls out of the parking spot.

"You're fine. I'm just mad at myself."

"For real? Why?" I say with the curiosity since it gets the better of me.

"I'd rather not say if you don't mind." I shake my head but her eyes never leave the road.

"It's fine. I appreciate the ride and I would have asked in a better way for a ride home, but I was honestly hoping for an offer from you since you're like my first friend here and I'm comfortable with you." She smiles and winks at me and I turn away feeling myself blush.

"It's the same for me too, and I'm really glad you got my brother to take the bag with the mystery meat." She says laughing and I can't help but laugh too.

"Did you want me to take a look at your truck." She asks as soon as she pulls into the driveway.

"It's up to you. The thing is a tank and I love the vintage of it, but it's honestly a piece of shit. Charlie knows it too... but he's too kind hearted and bought it off a his friend who probably needed the money. He bought it even though a fourteen or fifteen-year-old worked on it and he probably used the wrong parts; Mickey Mousing it until it ran." She snorts a laugh for the second time today, and this time I laugh looking away. She's a laughing and it's not muffled so I know she's not too embarrassed by it like before. I know she was trying to hold the laugh back hence the snort and I wonder why.

"I'll pop the hood and just take a look for now." She says getting out of her car and I follow suit and I'm glad it's not raining.

I follow her and she opens the hood easily enough and not even I know how to open the thing, so that one point for her even though she would kick my ass when it came to vehicles since I don't know much. I only know the basics since Phil showed me what do to if I had a flat and showed me how to check the fluids.

"Well, it's filthy, and your right about him using different parts. I see a few problems already and I'm surprised it ran with it like this."

"So your saying I should get a new car and send this to the junkyard." She nod sheepishly and gently closes the lid.

"It could be fixed but you'd just have to turn around and fix something else, it'll end up being a money trap." She adds and pats the hood.

"Oh, well. Do want to come in and maybe do homework together?" I say not wanting her to go right now.  She doesn't answer right away so I back up a step.

"It's okay if you can't or have other plans." I say biting my lip as she is still leaning one hand on the truck and the way she's dressed damn isn't she sexy. Probably would be even sexier if the damn beast had a better pain job and I can imagine her with her hair up while she's dressed in coveralls and a white tank top or a white t-shirt with the arms rolls up.

"I guess I could but I don't have any homework today."

"Oh." I say and things feel awkward now.

"I can still hang out while you do your homework. I only have to call the house and tell Esme or she will worry." Rosalie says making me smile and I nod and turn to go in the house while pulling my keys out of my bag.

"Hi. I'm calling to let you know I'll be hanging out at Bella's for a little while." Rosalie says into the phone as she follows me and I smile putting the key into the lock and open the door.

"No." Rosalie says and I turn to let her go in ahead of me but she has her back to me.

"I'll be home in a few hours. Bye." She says and turns putting her phone in her back pocket and smiles at me.

"Everything okay? Do you didn't have to go home and do chores or something?" I ask because she looks a little annoyed and she looks like something is bothering her.

"Everything is fine and no. I just kind of have a curfew so I have to remember to be home in time for dinner." I nod and gesture for her to go inside while I hold the door open wider. Curfew? Huh, Charlie never have me a curfew.
