Appearances
Lionstripe is first seen as MJ with Ravenpaw in the Prologue when he is speaking to him about joining the clans.

MJ is once again seen by Alderheart when he is out looking for herbs and runs into MJ who tells the medicine cat that he is out to meet some friends of his.

MJ reaches too a clearing where it turns out that he is the first one there and his friends, Barley, Quake, and Cloud, all appear and Cloud mentioned that his ancestors, the Spirits of the River, had told him a prophecy that could mean possible danger for the clans.

MJ then goes to the Thunderclan camp and is approached by Bumblestripe and Dawnstar.

They ask him why he is there and he relays the message to the Thunderclan leader.

Dawnstar invites him to stay, but he kindly turns down the offer stating that he doesn't think the warriors of the noble clan wouldn't like that.

He shortly returns to his den where he encounters a sneaking Quake trying to look for his stash of chocolate he stole from a twoleg.

He forces the brown tabby to get him more chocolate as payment for trying to steal what he rightfully stolen.

After Quake tells him that she would never forgive him for the punishment, the two shortly return to Cloud who goes them the news that Barley was murdered.

The news is stated to have hurt MJ and was close to mentioning why until Cloud cuts them off and tells them another prophecy. This time Lionstripe goes to Thunderclan and doesn't plan on having a temporary stay.

MJ goes to the Thunderclan camp again and goes past Bumblestripe to tell Thunderclan who he is. The fourth and last child of Leafpool's and Crowfeather's forbidden relationship. It is mentioned that Lionblaze thought that he would never get those words out of his head for a long time.

Dawnstar requests a second time for him to join Thunderclan and that his friends were allowed to join.

MJ, Cloud, and Quake accept the offer and MJ is renamed to Lionstripe.

Lionstripe is mentioned to not be completely trusted by the rest of the clan and the only cats that trust him are Strikeclaw, Lionblaze, Cloudfang, Dawnstar, Ivypool, and Sorrelstripe. Jayfeather, Sparkpelt, and Mousefang are stated to be some of the cats that don't trust Lionstripe at all.

A few moons after he joined Thunderclan and Strikeclaw invites him to a hunting patrol only for Hollyleaf too appear into the camp.

When Lionstripe asks how she is here since she had died, Jayfeather chimes in and asks how he knows Hollyleaf.

Dawnstar glares a warning to Jayfeather to stop before telling Hollyleaf that Lionstripe was right and that she had died during the Great Battle.

Hollyleaf states that she was sent by Firestar to keep an eye on the loners and the Great Three(whom the clans know exist, but don't know who they are) because Yellowfang had told Cloudfoot a prophecy earlier than it was meant to be told in hopes that it would change potential outcome, making it clear to Cloudfoot that the Spirits of the River never existed in the first place and that it was only Starclan that was there.
