School is bearable, I always say that in my mind as I wake up for school, every morning without fail. My best friends Lola and Ten make it bearable, and the library makes me want to go everyday knowing that I always have a book to return and a book to take back out. I love astrology. Ever since I saw a meteor shower five years ago in an open area in the woods, I have always been fascinated by space and the stars. I even had my room ceiling painted in glow in the dark paint of the planets in alchemy surrounded by constellations. Silver, mercury, copper, gold, iron, tin, and lead. I drift back to sleep thinking about how it would be like if I can transmute things into greater value.

"I hope you're putting your shoes on right now because the clock says it's time to go to school!" I heard my mom shriek from down stairs and immediately jumped out of bed to quickly put on a t-shirt, jeans, and a hoodie.

I run down the stairs skipping every one step, and arrive at the kitchen to steal a pancake from the plate. I quickly kissed my mom on the cheek, grab my car keys, backpack, and headed out to my small car.

I'm seventeen, a seventeen year old boy still obsessed with stars. My parents still can't believe I hadn't let that interest go. How could I though? The stars are always going to be a mystery, whats more interesting than learning about forever mysteries? I chew on my pancake as I dance to my music that is coming out of my speakers.

y todos me miran, me miran, me miran, porque se que so linda, porque todos me admiran

I silently curse my mom for getting me into her Spanish music. They're really good though so I don't mind. As the song ends, my ride to school ends as well. I grab my backpack from the passenger seat immediately being pulled down to the passenger side realizing that I have three big books about alchemy, constellations, and meteor showers. I use both hands to heave my backpack up and leave the car.

"Hey Matt!"

"What's up man! Up for some football during break?" I shake my head and smile at that questions explaining I have other things in mind.

"Matt dude how was your weekend!"

"Party at my house on Friday Matt, better be there!" A hundred more people greet me as I walk to the entrance of the school.

"Hey Matt," I heard a flirt y voice beside me say while right after a hand snaked its way to my arm. I shake it off.

"Sorry May, I told you I'm not interested, but still, uh, hello?" I give her a sheepish smile.

"Tsk, don't worry Matty, I'll make you want me," she winked and walked to her group of friends who were laughing throughout the whole scene.

"Slutty bitch," I turn around and smile as I see Lola beside me now.

"Now, now, those aren't nice words Loly," I said as I turned around and smiled to see Ten and Lola behind me.

"Shut up, she's a slutty bitch and we both know it," she spat as she scrunched up her face and stuck her tongue out.

"Really mature Lola," Ten said as he choked back a chuckle.

I walk into first my first period class. Math. I hated it but I knew that if I wanted to be an astrologist I need to be good at it. So I tried to pay attention.

I didn't know that I had wandered off into space until the bell rang. I jerked and looked up at the board. Numbers, shapes, and equations. These things floated around my head until the teacher cleared his throat signalling that next period is about to start. I left the room to go to my next class.

---------

It was lunch time and I was relieved. The morning seemed more glum and boring than other days. After the lunch portion of the period ended, everyone left to go do their respective places while the kids who participated in band, orchestra, and choir flooded into the lunch room starving. I dodged the music kids and waved my friends goodbye as I headed to the library.

"Matthew! Already finished with those books I see," the library teacher, Mrs. Lock, commented as I walked to her desk.

"Of course Mrs. Lock! I can not stop reading these books about the stars and alchemy and what people believed alchemy and the stars were! Do you mind if I grab another book?"

She chuckled. "Of course dear, how wonderful that a lovely young man like you reads so much!"

I only smiled at her before dropping the books off her desk and heading to the astrology section. It took me a while to choose a book, but in the end, I picked up Alchemy and Mysticism by Alexander Roob. I had already read this book a couple months prior, but I couldn't help to pick it up again. I went back to Mrs. Lock's desk and gave her the book to check out. I thanked her and left the room to go to the abandoned music room to read.

I usually go there to read since no one knows of it and it gives me some peace before the next period. But as I got closer to the room, I heard a violin playing. A song that felt so sad that I stopped and blinked before following the sound again. I got to the room and quietly opened the door a little to see who it was.

A small boy who was about 5'6 with ashy blond hair, black jeans, and a black long sleeve shirt was playing the deeply sorrowful song on his violin. When he finished his face had no emotion, as if he was just playing something that felt regular to him. He scribbled something on his sheet music and continued. I forgot that I was leaning on the door because a second later I fell down on top of my book and looked up to see the violin guy look down on me, a bit startled.

I waved at him, "Hi?"

A/N

Gahhhhhh, this is my first story that I am actually going to try and finish. I hope you guys like it so far!! Just so you know this isn't edited so be aware. I'm just a lazy bum. I hope this isn't too cliche. I don't think it is with the plans I have for it but lets see what happens. I don't know much about alchemy (I'll be searching up on that before the next chapter) and I'm not an expert at stars but I try. And the song mentioned in the beginning of this chapter is todos me miran by Gloria Trevi. My mom plays it a lot while making breakfast and I wake up to it every day and the song was playing as I was writing so I was like "why not? men can like this kind of music too!" it's so good you should listen to it. N e wayz,, thank you so much for picking this up!! Until the next chapter!!
