2020 started with WWIII, thanks to the death of an Islamic General via USA drone, then the bombing of a USA soldier camp, and 3,746 soldiers were killed and the rest injured. This caused mass hysteria and anger, riots made up of the family of the dead and injured soldiers raged on the streets, declaring there should be war. After a full week of this and a heated political debate between all the senators, Donald Trump declared war against Islam, calling that all borders between non-allies be closed and heavily guarded.

The war started out just between USA and Islam, then it started to grow as all of Asia joined Islam's side, then most of Europe joined them. Canada and Mexico joined the US, then Germany joined them as well. Soon, Germany fell after an invasion from all sides, supply lines cut off and forcing them into dropping out. That's when Nukes started to drop.

The first ones to use the bombs were, understandably, the US, bombing Britain into submission. It was very quickly seen as the worst possible thing the US could ever do, as after that, Mexico, Canada and the US were bombed to shit, killing too many people to properly count, only that there was only a fraction of the population left. Canada, US and Mexico all sent out their bombs as a final retaliation, killing billions of people as a result.

After that, Mexico dropped out, and Canada not long after. US was stubborn, but after losing nearly a billion more people, they surrendered. This entire war lasted all of two years.

The Corona virus still ran rampant, killing the elderly and infecting millions. The problem, though, is that in the two years of war, the Corona virus started to mutate, changing it's composition and turning into some kind of fungus.

It started to infect the dead. Started to control them.

The many, many, MANY corpses left in the world started to move, their hearts started to beat again, their minds became active. They were brought back from the dead. Then, it turned out to go exactly as it does in the movies. They started to over run the world, eating people, infecting the living and killing them.

But this time, it was different, because there were so few human left alive at from the war. We were unprepared, and they killed so many of us, bringing them back and adding more and more to their army of pure evil. Very few survived the first month of confusion, not knowing that you didn't have to be bitten to become infected. Many just took their own lives, and the Virus just infected their cold corpse.

But it's been three years since it happened. I haven't seen another human being in two years. I may be the only human left alive on this side of the planet. Yet, I won't give up hope! I believe that there's another human out there, and I'm ready to fight my way through the hoards to find them.

My name is Simon Ashes, and this is the story of my survival.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

I peek around the corner of the old clothes store building, checking to see if any Zombs are around, clutching my hunting knife  tightly. I see that the street is empty save for the large amounts of rubble and over turned cars. I breath a sigh of relief through my mask, settling my beating heart a bit.

Sheathing my knife on my chest, I step out from behind the old store and start walking down the street, keeping my ears and eyes wide open, ready to catch the slightest bit of movement or sound. As I reach the center of the street, I catch a bit of movement from my peripheral vision on my right, and I whirl around and catch sight of an old piece of paper floating past. I sigh and continue along my way, keeping my hands tense and ready to move at any moment.

After a few more minutes of this, I make it to my destination, the Cabelas hunting store. I run into the store quickly, taking my time to check to see if there's an Zombs inside. None. I speed walk through the large store, finally finding the Guns, Ammo and Knives area. I do a quick sweep to see what's left of the supplies and find a decent amount of knives and guns left, along with a few large cases of ammo. I move quickly, grabbing a few large Bowie knives, a new pistol, which was read as a G44 Semi-Auto Pistol, and opening my back pack and dumping in as many .22 caliber bullets and magazines as I could possibly carry without tiring out too fast.
