The first thing that rang into my mind was that we were being ambushed. I look at my best friend and she confirms what I thought.
I look at the place where the first shot was and see a Taliban soldier holding an AK47 and about to shoot my best friend and in that moment I took a leap of faith and felt the bullets hit me and feel the blood on my right side of my body. the last thing I saw before everything went black was my best friend calling "MAN DOWN THE CAPTAIN HAS BEEN SHOT MULTIPLE TIME WE NEED AN EVEAC NOW!!" And then It went black.
