OH, WE NEARLY FORGOT. WE HAVE TO TELL YOU WHAT THE WHOLE THING IS, RIGHT FROM THE START.

↺ there are three categories, as mentioned before in the rules. they are: anthologies, story poems, solitary/single poems

each have a different set of judges and judging criteria

↺ anthologies are collections of poems with a recurring theme and each piece has no word limit to it. however, there must be at least five pieces in the anthologies that we get and these exclude disclaimers, prologues, playlists, dedications, introductory chapters, aesthetics, etc

↺ story poems are stories told through verses of poems and are a single long poem, divided into chapters. they can be in any perspective (first, second, third) but they must have a story and each chapter must pick up from where the last chapter left off. there is no word limit as such, but there must be three chapters at least for all story poem submissions and these exclude disclaimers, prologues, playlists, dedications, introductory chapters, aesthetics, etc

↺ solitary poems are books with a single poem in them, written in one chapter, not quite different from a one-shot or a short story. these are books with only chapter and besides the usual requisite of it being a poem, it has the word limit of fifty-five hundred words. poems with words more than five hundred and words less than fifty, unfortunately fail to qualify

↺ there will be one full month of registration, for which registrations are unlimited. one participant can enter only one book per category

↺ after registrations close, there will be one month of judging. the judges will mark your books on the basis of the following criteria:

• CRITERIA FOR ANTHOLOGIES
→ TCD - Title, Cover & Description (5)
→ Overall Presentation (10)
→ First Entry (5)
→ Last Entry (5)
→ Writing Style (15)
→ Structuring & Grammar (10)
→ Poetic Features - Figures of Speech, Rhyme, etc. (10)
→ Theme Delivery (15)

Total (75)

• CRITERIA FOR STORY-POEMS
→ TCD - Title, Cover, Description (5)
→ Writing Style (15)
→ Structuring & Grammar (10)
→ Plot (15)
→ Characterization (10)
→ Poetic Features - Figures of Speech, Rhyme, etc. (10)

Total: (65)

• CRITERIA FOR SOLITARY POEMS
→ TCD (5)
→ Writing Style (15)
→ Structuring & Grammar (10)
→ Poetic Features - Figures of Speech, Rhyme, etc. (10)
→ Theme Delivery (15)

Total: (55)

↺ the ones with the highest scores in each category win the first place. although we can assign second place and third place to the participants, the only difference will be the marks and the placement. the prizes for all the winners are the same

↺ the minimum cut-off for a winning book is 65 and above for anthologies, 55 and above for story poems and 45 and above for solitary poems. if there are only two books meeting this cut-off, we have the right to remove the third place from the category. similarly, if there is only one book meeting this cut-off, we can get rid of the second place for the category.

↺ although judges will not provide reviews to the participants, we will send you your marks and depending on those, you can understand what are your limitations and strengths.

tcd: title, cover, description is a section of few marks, but it is important as it accounts for your first impression. does the title suit your book or is it too ambiguous to make sense? is your cover too eye-pleasing and makes the reader want to pick up the book? does your description cement the idea of adding your book into the library or does it make a reader have second thoughts? judges will mark you on the basis of these points.

↺ overall presentation* is an important section for anthologies, since it lays heavy stress of the way each piece of poetry in the collection has been presented and how well do they stand out, as well as how well do they merge with the other pieces.

↺ first entry & last entry* are sections for marking your progress as a poet in your anthology. no, it does not judge your writing style, but rather how much your theme has differed from the first entry. how
impactful was the first entry? did it leave a lasting impression, enough to make one read till the last piece? how different is the last entry from the first? does it still hold the same emotion or does it have a different edge to it?

↺ writing style is where your unique features as a poet will be examined and marked. this will be preference-oriented, however, since writing styles are subjective and depend on the tastes of the judges.

↺ structuring and grammar is not a very stringent portion of
the judging, since poetry rarely follows STRICT grammatical rules. however, basic punctuations like commas at the right places, word usage, vocabulary, structure of stanza, awkward rhyming can all be detected and marked in this section.

↺ plot° deals with the plot of the poem. is it uninteresting and vague, or does it want to make you read more? is the flow of the plot too fast or too slow plot-holes, pace, clichés, plot delivery etc can be detected in this section and marked accordingly.

↺ characterization° is a section only for story poems. proper
characterization is essential for the story poem to be a story poem. are the characters too paper-like and two-dimensional? are they simply Mary Sue's (perfect characters)? here,
you are judged on the basis of how good a character you can produce

↺ poetic features as the name suggests, will be judging your book on the basis of how poetic it is and how well you have used poetic devices like figures of speech, rhyme, etc

↺ theme delivery*• is for anthologies and solitary poems. Like the plot section, this focuses on the message or the theme that the poem tries to achieve. it analyses how well you have delivered your piece/s and the overall element of your book

↺ after the judges announce the winners, the prize distribution will take place and a seperate book (magazine) will be made displaying the winners of each category.
