"He'll be fine, it's a mild concussion, dehydration, and exhaustion" she replied almost offhandedly as she quickly typed into her phone.
"Ishi, what about your back?" Tamaki hadn't missed her small winces when the boy held onto her tight and he could see the small spots of blood soaking through the back of her sweatshirt, he was sure it wasn't a bad injury but he also didn't want her to be in pain or for her to get an infection, she was his world and any damage to her brought pain to him in equal magnitude, he couldn't stand watching her withstand things that she shouldn't have to.
Ishi flinched lightly, almost as if she either didn't want it brought up, or she had forgotten and being reminded brought back the pain. Recovery Girl looked up at her, eyeing her suspiciously through the tops of her glasses at the end of her nose, "What about your back Ishi?" she questioned causing Ishi to seemingly 'look away' trying to keep out of Recovery Girl's line of sight.
"Nothing...?" she replied, still looking away. Recovery girl responded by walking over to where she sat on her stool and lifting the back of the hoodie harshly, Tamaki flinched at the criss crossing network of scars that covered the entirety of the small girl's back, there wasn't a single patch of untouched skin anywhere. At the base of her back along her spine was a few small cuts and puncture wounds where the rough concrete had opened her skin and she slid down it in her earlier melt down, the platelets in her body had mostly stopped the bleeding but there was still dirt in the wounds and they seemed inflamed, if they didn't do something it would get infected.
"Lay down on the bed next to Hitoshi child" her tone was demanding, leaving no room for refusal, Tamaki himself almost felt the need to lay down too. He watched as she slowly got up and maneuvered her way around the room and laid down, pulling the hoodie up once she was situated, her face on its side so she didn't suffocate from the pillow. "Mm fine" she mumbled quietly not liking the attention or the fact that Recovery Girl would tell Aizawa and that then she would get a lecture and she decided based on the feeling in her stomach, that she was in no way looking forward to it.
"No you're not, I'm going to make you better, and then you are going to go to sleep and Tamaki...will probably stay here and watch over you" she quickly looked over to him for an assuring nod, which he gave, before returning her attention to Yuuei's ward. "Goodnight darling" she whispered before extending her lips to kiss the young girls back, watching as the injuries scabbed over and quickly joined the maze of scars littered over her back. Once she was sure her quirk had done its job she tugged the hoodie down and enlisted Tamaki's all too eager help to pull the blanket from the end of the bed over Ishi's shoulders.
It hurt, Ishi felt like she was suspended in fire. She arched her back in pain, screaming till no sound came out, till her throat hurt just as bad as her back, her knees, her head. Screaming until the tears pouring from her eyes felt like they were enough to fill a river, screaming until she felt like she was on the verge of passing out.
Suddenly the blackness that surrounded her melted into tiled floors, one black tile out of place causing a rift in the pattern. She focused on that singular tile as she tried to make the rest of her surroundings melt away. Tried to get rid of the wooden cabinets and retro fridge, the marble countertops and titanium sink, the dog in the corner of the room barking at her until her head rang and the angry couple above her, both lashing out with their quirks as she cowered in fear. Venomous acid dripped from her snakes mouths as they attempted to protect her from the violent offenders above her. She knew they meant well, but she also knew that some of their acid was falling directly into her already burning wounds. It seemed as though the pain would never end as she clutched at the dirty floors and tried to block out the world. She started to think that the life she built at Yuuei was a lie, a convenient daydream to pull her from her pain. That she had never run away from her current guardians, that she had never gotten mixed up with a man in the middle of the street and met real life heroes who thought that she was worth something, that she had never met the kindest boy in the world, the boy who she knew would become one of the best heroes ever. And she froze, the fear that she never left this nightmare paralyzed her, body shaking both in pain and fear, she clutched at the smooth tiles until her fingers bled and she was finally able to scream once more.
