It was a bright mid-summer day in the city. The sun was high in the sky, the flowers were finally blooming, and bees were buzzing about. Instead of spending some time outside, Katie was in the kitchen cleaning.
"C'mon girls! We need to get this place cleaned up!!"
Charlotte strolled into the kitchen, let out a heavy sigh, and said "Ugh, why?"
Grace walked in behind Charlotte and exclaimed "Char, we've told you many times. Our friends from Halifax are coming."
"Yea but they're not staying with us," said Charlotte.
"No, but I'd like the house to be clean so then they can come whenever they are free," said Katie.
Charlotte rolled her eyes and said "Ugh, fine" as she left the room.
"I'm sure she'll change once they come," Grace assured. "She just doesn't like to do things that involve a lot of work."
"You're right about that one! I wonder what adventures will go on when they get here."
"I don't know. But the possibilities are endless!" Grace exclaims.
