Chapter 1 - You're Sunshine because he is the Sun

"Mama... where is my dad?"

The woman watched her son and didn't know what to say. Where is the dad? Well she knew very well where he was, she could see it everyday on his instagram stories. But he didn't know that he had a son or maybe he did, she wasn't so sure about that. But deep down she knew that he wasn't aware because the least she knew about that man was that he was a good man and a kind soul. He wasn't someone who won't take responsibility over something that big. And maybe the fact that they were in two different countries.

"Mama?"

"Hmm... You're daddy? He... he lives far away from here."

She said while caressing her son's hair.

"Doesn't he miss us?"

The boy said looking at her with these big eyes who were so like his father.

"He doesn't know about you, sunshine. But I promise if he knew about you he would be here... You know those pictures and videos we're taking everyday? It's for him. I sent it to him everyday for him to know you better when he discovers about you. Because you're my sunshine but you will be his sunshine too. Because you're daddy is the sun and you're the best gift the sun could give me."

She kissed him on the top of his head and finished tugging him into bed for the night.

"What's his name Mama?"

She sighed, should she tell him? He was so young, only 6 years old. But then they lived far away from the man. What were the chances?

"His name is Tay Tawan. It means sun in thai."

She watched her son repeat the name like it was some sacred name and after giving her a huge smile he said.

"That's why I'm sunshine! Because daddy is the sun!"

He looked so happy. It made her smile.

"Yeah sunshine. But this sunshine needs to go to sleep if he wants to shine bright tomorrow."

He made a face and yawned.

"Can you tell me more about daddy?"

She was silent for a few seconds.

"Ok but you try to sleep ok?"

He nodded frantically and waited for her to begin.

"Well Tay, he's so much like you. Clumsy, always happy and so kind. He really is like the sun, he has that warm feeling which attracts people to him and makes friends with him."

She saw her son slowly falling asleep and fighting to keep his eyes open.

"How did you two meet?"

"When I went to Thailand for my vacation I saved his grandma cause she was having an attack on the street and missed my flight back. Had to stay there for 1 more month. I stayed with his grandma back then. He is a really busy man, but he was always there to entertain me. He really is a friendly person. A few days before I left he was very upset and you know that I never drink. Well that night it was my first ever time to drink that much. Then a few days later I came back here and weeks later I learned that I had you in me."

She watched her son sound asleep now and smiled. This time her smile was a bit sad. She took her phone from her pocket and took a picture of their son to send to him. She typed her message on the only way of contact she had and used for 6 years.

"Hey Mr Sun =D hope you're doing well. I think you do if social media is correct. Here is a pic of our sunshine. He asked me about you tonight. I didn't have it in me to lie to him. So I think you have another fan now. See you tomorrow. =D Goodnight Mr. Sun."

And she too went to sleep.

I'm trying this out.

It's the first time that I'm writing in english so excuse me for all the mistakes I made and am going to make in the future.
I'm still in the process of writing this story and it would really help me to know what you're thinking about it.
