Prolgue

"Sam get down here this very
instant". Mrs Veronica Hall called out to her daughter.

Sam hated these events. They were going to a Charity gala for cancer. She hated the fact that these people did not even care about those cancer patients. The only reason why they went was to show off how much they had. The women were there to showcase their latest addition to their expensive jewelry collection or their newest Gucci dress. For the men it is about coming to brag about their latest hit investment. Nobody liked anybody genuinely, they were just fake smiles so that they had someone to brag to. For the girls, well they were there to find an eligible husband and the boys were here to find their next easy lay. It was a typical eighteenth century ball except it happened in the twenty first.

Sam however was different. When she was 17 her father put her in charge of donations and charity for the family. Whenever she made a donation to an orphanage or a cancer clinic she made an effort to pay a visit. Her favorite charity was the St Benedict children's home. She loved that place. She made it a must to visit at least once a week. That is how she met her best friend Mia.

. "I am almost done mother i will be there in a minute". Frankly she had finished getting ready about half an hour ago but she was kinda killing time. She finally got up from the bed and grabbed her purse and headed out. She was wearing a short black dress and a pair of white converse shoes put together with a white purse. Her mom would be pissed by the shoes but she did not care, she hated heals.

The way Sam dressed made here an outcast in this society and her intelligence did not help either. The guys here preferred their girls dumb. They wanted them to, well sit still,look pretty. She was not like that she was head strong. The girls enjoyed talking about boys and clothes and she did not know the difference between Gucci and D&G besides their labels so she was a loner.

When she got downstairs she noticed her dad was not there. "Where is dad?" She asked.
"Ohhh he is going to meet us there he had some work to take care of". That meant it was just going to be her and her mom in the car. This was going to be a long 20 minutes. After a really long car ride with her mom giving her the full 411 on who is hot and who is not they finally got to the gala. As soon as they got into the Brewer residence, which was where the gala was being held, she told her mom she was going to find a bathroom. She had come here so often she knew the house like the back of her hand.

The Hall and Brewer families had been friends since forever. It is said their great grandfathers helped each other build their fortunes initially Edward Hall worked as a guard For Mr Brewer until Mr Brewer eventually convinced Edward to start a security company. They have been flourishing ever since. The Brewer family own a properties company. Mr and Mrs Mark and Emma Brewer had two Sons. Damien and Nathaniel. She and Nate had always been close. He was the only friend he had in this society. He had a huge crush on Mia her friend from the orphanage. It was quite funny. Damian on the other hand she loathed. She could not stand his arrogant and rude nature and he could not stand her either. He was only 4 years older but he treated her like a child who was incapable of making any decision on her own and she despised that. As she was walking to the bathroom she was trying to avoid any eye contact when she suddenly hit something hard.

" Hey, watch where you are going." said the person she had just bumped into. She was about to apologize when she came face to face with the devil himself. Damian.
