The Rising

The beginning

    15 years ago the human race was forced into underground cites. Due to the rising of supernatural forces in which humans were no match against. No human is allowed to be above grounds. If caught the punishment is death. I guess I'll just have to take that chance.
      "Pleaseeeeee dad please please let me go!" I say with puppy dog eyes. "Absolutely not that's out of the question." He says with his back turned to me. I cross my arms and pout. "I'll be careful I won't get caught please dad it's the best school in the city." I say. He turns to me and places his hand on my shoulder. "Aaliyah I don't wanna take that chance and end up losing you." He says he's voice is soft. "I know you're worried but when have I ever been caught... never because I am the master of stealth." I say with a goofy smirk. His silence lingers in the air he lets out a sigh . "Fine but if things get a little too risky I'm not letting you go understand." I jump into his arms and kiss his cheek. "Deal!" I say as I do a little dance toward my room.
    I sit on my bed and pick up a picture of me and my mom. I outline the frame with my finger as I let my mind wander. She was so beautiful. Everything about her was just beautiful. Her smile her light brown eyes her curly hair even her dimples. Dad tells me I'm her replica. That I'm just like her. I wonder what she'd say if she was here now. I hear a knock at the door. I gently put the picture down before saying come in. My dad comes and sits on my bed. He takes a deep breath in and pulls out a phone. My eyes light up with excitement. "Omg dad how'd you get this? How much was it?" I say. "I bought it a couple of months ago but I was saving it until your birthday but I guess you need it now." He says with a hint of worry. I lay my head on his shoulder. " Don't worry dad everything will be ok. I'll be ok I promise." He lightly chuckles before kissing me on the forehead and telling me to go to bed. I turn off my light and drift off to sleep I've got a big day ahead of me.
