It had been a week since I had seen Kayd with the blond, and I had been avoiding him quite well.

He had sent me a few texts with each having a simple and short "Hey'', and I had deleted them without a second glance.

Zach and I had been hanging out with Alex, Dee, Layla and Bobby a lot, and when we weren't with them we were hanging out on our own.

I enjoyed his company, he could start a conversation about anything, and hold one pretty well.

And of course, he served as a perfect distraction from a certain Silver, which was an added bonus.

But today, apparently, my luck had run out, I always knew it would, I had just hoped it would have lasted a little longer.

Zach stood with me on the outskirts of the field which was right outside the school cafeteria.

He smiled nervously, "So, um, Kar, I hope you don't think I'm forward or anything, but I really like you. And I know I haven't known you long but the time we've been spending together, its been awesome. And I was wondering if you would be my girlfriend?''

Now, where I did find that extremely sweet, I couldn't say a thing because all I could focus on was the blond walking out of the cafeteria and toward us with a determined look on his face.

Silver.

Zach frowned, ''Karma?''

''Uh-" I was rudely cut off by Kayd.

''Karma, whats going on?''

Zach turned to him, ''Hey, dude, we're kind of in the middle of something if you don't mind''

''Yeah, I do mind,'' he said rudely, turning his attention to me, ''Kar, I'm waiting.''

I sighed, "Kayd, I don't know what you want me to say.''

"I want you to tell me why you've been avoiding me.'' He said, not even trying to mask the anger in his voice.

''I have not.'' I knew we all knew that was a load of bull, but there was no way I was letting Kayd Silver see that he had gotten to me, and that his games had hurt me; I was better then that.

Kayd frowned so slightly that anyone else would have missed it, ''K, c'mon, whats wrong?''

I scowled at him, ''Nothing, Silver.''

I was vaguely aware of Zach's presence standing off to the side, and I realized exactly what was going on.

Kayd Silver was acting like this because he was territorial and he obviously felt threatened by Zach, as he should, Zach was at least an honest person, not a lying, cheating player.

''If nothings wrong, why have you been avoiding my texts?''

I shrugged, ''I hardly have time to be on my phone, I'm always out these days.'' The being out wasn't a lie, however the part about not having time for my phone was the biggest bluff out.

Kayds eyes visibly darkened, ''Out with who?'' Even as he asked, his eyes scanned Zach briefly.

I was surprised when Zach stepped up next to me and casually wrapped an arm around my waist, "Me. Now, if you'll excuse us, we have something to talk about.'' And with that Zach pulled me off, leaving a confused and hurt looking Kayd staring after us.

He was the one who had kissed me and then gone and found someone else, he didn't have a right to have those emotions.

As soon as we were alone, he stopped and turned to me, "Okay, now before I carry on, what's going on with you and that guy?''
