Szczepan had the date all planned out. He was going to take Maddie to the expensive Italian restaurant she’d been eying up since its recent opening. He had it planned out, table book, set up, ready to go.

They had been together for four years. Szczepan had moved from Poland during the end of year 6 and started year 7 in a new country. Six months into the school year, this cute blonde has strutted up to him, grabbed his face and smashed their lips together before stating that they were now together.

That was exactly four years and six months ago.

Szczepan was sitting in the limo trying to work up the nerve to knock on the door and make Maddie his. The only thing standing in his way from getting the plan rolling was the door.

Szczepan sighs, rubbing his hands over his face before pushing the door open. He rolled out of the car and stumbled to his feet, trying not to crease his suit jacket. He slowly strides up to the door, second guessing himself. By the time he reached the door, he’s a 110% ready to see his fiancée, to see the love of his life. Szczepan reaches into his pocket and pulls out the key to Maddie’s houses.

 Maddie’s parents are loaded. They’re one of the biggest families in the town. Both her parents being hot shot lawyers, parents are split and fight over their only daughter’s affections by throwing cash at her. 

He pushed the door open, careful not to make a noise. He took slow, quiet steps inside the large house, pausing when the groans reached his ears. Szczepan pauses, his eyebrows furrowing. Was she hurt?

Szczepan continues to walk into the house. The groans and pants get louder the deeper he gets. Then it hits him. His heart is slowly being crushed by an ice cold hand when names start being moaned and screamed out.

Szczepan gives up trying to be quiet. The scent of sex and arousal is heavy in the air, the slick sounds from the fucking loud in his ears. He climbs up the stairs, feet thumping and low growls slipping out with every breath. The closer he gets, the more distinct the sounds get, Maddie and the man get louder and the slick sounds get closer together.

Eyes flashing gold, Szczepan launches himself up the stairs and barrelling into Maddie’s pink room. Claws extended and eyes lit up, he takes in the site of Maddie bouncing on the man’s lap. And from what Szczepan can see, that is who it is. A man. Not a boy or teenager. His betrothed is having an affair with an older man.

The man, of course, was from an opposing pack. A pack with no permission to be in the Miller’s territory.  A Pack that are known to go around and kill off members of other packs in attempt to become more powerful. A pack Mother Moon has abandoned. A pack who can no longer change at will or on a full moon. This pack only change three times a month, with excruciating pain and at mercy to their instincts.

They believe Mother Moon will accept them back if they offer her sacrifices, despite the fact that’s what got them into the mess in the first place.

Amy had warned him. She had told him to watch out as three of the Milton pack members had been spotted outside of the territory. Amy had also warned him about Maddie, eyeing up and fucking around with other guys at school.

Of course he had ignored Amy. Amy was just jealous as the guy she liked showed no interest in her in that sense. He should have seen this coming. He just hates it when she is right.  Amy is the Alpha’s second though, so he should have trusted her word simply on that alone. Patryka doesn’t trust lightly. While Patryka gets along with all of his pack members well, Amy is his favourite from the pack. He loves cuddling and coddling her, treating her better than the other thirty pack members. Granted the whole pack is only all there on the pack BBQs, birthdays and the monthly pack meetings.

The previous Alpha, Alpha Miller, Patryka’s grandfather had died back when the pack was in Poland, along with all of Alpha Miller’s children in a hunters accident. The town had a new hunter pack move in around the same time the Pack was dealing with a rouge. The hunters had seen the werewolf attacks and moved in and took out the Alpha and relatives, leaving the younger pack members to deal with a 12 year old alpha werewolf.

Szczepan stomps into the room, ripping Maddie off of the other werewolf and hammers into him. Slamming his fist down into the werewolves face, watching the skin heal as soon as it’s broken. Snarls and growls were slipping from his mouth as he slammed down into the smirking man. The smug bastard’s grin pushed him on and before he could stop himself, his claws had slashed through the man’s throat and Szczepan’s eyes glow blue.

Maddie screams loudly, pulling at Szczepan’s arms and crying. “Why! You sick fuck!” she shouted.

Szczepan climbs off of the man’s body and sits on the bed, staring down at his bloodied hands. He continues to block out Maddie’s screams and focuses on trying to pull his wolf back. As soon as Szczepan has pulled his wolf back he pulls his phone out when Maddie stop screaming and just fell to the floor and started sobbing.

“Patryka here,” the Alpha sighs.

“I fucked up,” Szczepan whispered, “I found a member of the Milton pack—having sex with Maddie…”

“Sef….”Patryka whispers.

“I….I kill him…..I kill a man,” he whimpers.

“Kochanie, what’s wrong?” Amy’s voice rings from the background.

Some fumbling and moving was heard in the background before Patryka lets out a loud sigh and whispers “Sef killed a Milton. Maddie was sleeping with him by the sounds of it.”

More fumbling was heard before Amy managed to steal the phone. “Oh honey! Don’t worry, we’ll get there was fast as we can! It’ll be okay shhhh,” Amy cooed when Szczepan let out a loud, lone sob.

Szczepan hung up and just stares at his hands. “Why!” Maddie screams.

Szczepan let his anger out then. “Why the fuck where you cheating on me!” he screams back, pushing her shoulders and getting into her space.

That stopped her. “It doesn’t fucking matter! You don’t kill people over something so fucking stupid like that!” she shouted.

“Are you fucking kidding me? You’re lucky I didn’t go for you!” he hisses, “You know I have problems controlling the wolf when it comes to you.”

She went silent. She licked her lips and wouldn’t look him in the eye as she spoke, “With your werewolf powers, I thought you knew I was cheating on you from the moment it started…”

She paused, taking in a shuddering breath, “I thought you didn’t care and that I was allowed to do it. The night after the first guy, we slept together and you didn’t care or mention it so I thought I got away with it and it was fine.”

“What the fuck is wrong with you!?” He sneered.

Then the sound of the front door opening alerted him of the Alpha and his second’s presence. They rushed up the stairs and the door flew open. Amy launched herself at Szczepan, throwing the boy away from Maddie and holding him tight, whispering into his ear to calm him.

Patryka grabbed hold of the girl and took her out of the room to talk to her.

Amy sighed before letting go and standing up. “Come on, help me get rid of the body,” she says and she pulls Szczepan to his feet.
