Hi there!
Here I am again.

The next book I'm presenting is Playing the Duchess by Karen Lingefelt. It's an historical romance set in a 19th century England and I chose it because of its originality and because once you start reading it you want to read further.

The protagonist is Nicholas Maxwell, Duke of Colfax, who invents a fictional fiancée (Miss Robinson) in order to keep contending women at bay, aware of the fact that these girls wanted to marry him only for his title: in fact, neither these ladies nor the protagonist's own father had ever taken notice of him while Nicholas's elder brother was still alive.

The story starts with a great problem for the young Duke: he told his mother that Miss Robinson remained in America because of the war, so she never doubted the existence of his fiancée. But in 1815 everything changed: the war ended and Nicholas's mother was eager to meet the future Duchess.

How will Nicholas deal with it? Will he confess the great lie?
Something unexpected happened, however.

Hope you'll find it interesting and amusing.
