She sat down, staring out at the glowering plate that was in the sky, a dark blue surrounded it with white dots sprinkled in, "Why can't I go up there?" She asked her mother, her tone was innocent and her voice was highly pitched, her lavender eyes soon turned to her mother's dark purple.
A gentle chorus of laughter escaped her mother's lips, "One day you can, but today, we just admire them."
The little girl giggled, her eyes naturally closing in glee as her body trampled with the giggle. She looked back up to the sky. She heard her mother's soft tone speak, "Remember the story I told you?" She always loved her mother's stories, they made her feel at home. The little pale girl looked at her mother, eyes sparkling like the stars above.
She quickly turned herself to her mother, gripping the grass in excitement. A loud excited squeal came out of her rosy lips, "Tell me!" The two words caused her mother to give a small smile, the older female looked at her daughter as she was about to speak but the daughter gasped, "Cuddle story time!"
The mother only nodded gently, the only thing in the air besides them was the breeze that gently flowed through their hair, her mother's hair had grayed but had brown sprinkles into it, hair tucked behind her tanned ears. The frail little girl though had short and bobbed black hair, bangs just above her eyes as she lay on the ground, awaiting the story. Eyes sparkling like amethyst, as her mother looked up to the sky and spoke, the frail and small girl curled up on her lap as her eyes looked up to her brightly, "There was once a prince, locked away in a tower. As all stories go this prince had been troubled by loneliness, and it had sometimes been too much to bare. He often had scars against his body because he felt the world against him, and he had no one to help him. His parents abandoned him and he was all alone. Until one day, one fateful day someone climbed his tower, despite the thorns that lie around it, they had heard the legends. The kind soul only wished to free him from his loneliness, and despite the thorns and the pain he endured this other man went up there. At first the prince was suspicious, because he had been so alone for so long he didn't know whether to trust the... Thing that had climbed his tower. But the man who had came up, he stayed with him for days on end, reassuring him and helping him trust him. When they got down the two soon fell in love, and the man loved him for his scars, and for his inner strength. They got married and lived happily ever after." The little girl smiled in glee, she wrapped her arms around her mother, cuddling even further into her and her small figure lay on her mother's legs. Head in her mind lap and her body twisted around her moms legs.
Her eyes looked up to her moms', her voice like sunlight among the breeze, "Mama?"
The mother smiled kindly and asked, "Yes dear?" A gentle smile was on the mother's face as her eyes lovingly lay upon her daughter.
The daughter gleefully gazed upon her mother as she responded, "I want to be like the prince, he's so strong!"
The mother gently kissed the little girls pale forehead, causing a sweet melodic giggle to come out of the angelic rosy mouth of the small female, "You will be the strongest." The small girl smiled as her mother gently spoke these words. They both continued to lay in the grass as the small female lay on her mothers lap. Her mother looked up into the stars as they sprinkled the navy sky and smiled, tears came out of her eyes, because it didn't matter if they had a home or not, she wanted to stay here with her daughter forever and tell her stories of soldiers and brave innocents that went through so much. She used to be one of those, and she didn't want her daughter to have to go through that. So they laid there with the breeze and the night sky, the full moon luminous against the darkness as the stars helped it shine. The evergreen pines sticking out of the dirt as she rested her left hand on the ground, they felt soft like silk. Her other hand was running through her daughters soft hair, the single strands felt like velvet, as soft snoring sounds cam out of the small one. She had found her home, where she belonged.
