Dear journal: My name is saiko, and this is the story how I met my first friend.

I've mostly been home schooled most of my life. My mom didn't want me to experience potential bullying that could occur if I went to school with other people so she decided to play teacher for "my sake"........ Well until she died.  She was always so depressed, I used to hear her talk to herself at night in my room through the walls. She sounded like she was crying all the time. She blames herself for the death of my dad. He died when I was 6 of a burning car crash. He was leaving my mom after a fight they had but before he left for good he told me that he was going to "get some milk". Wooooow, very generic saiko. You earn a gold sticker.  My mom died of a suicide recently.  I walk in our basement and next thing you know she's dangling from the ceiling and she felt ice cold. She didn't even leave a note.  Guess it was bound to happen. I never really socialized with people so I didn't call the police or look for help, gives me anxiety. I just stayed in my house until all the food ran out. I went to look for some food but than I passed out on the side of the road. We also ran out of cat food for my cat moochi. Next thing I know I was waking up at the police station where some people from social services arrived. I was trembling while I was trying to explain to them what happened. I was in tears and all they could do was hug me and reassure me. Right now I'm on a train on my way to my aunt and uncles house. They save me my cousins room since she's in college. I soon come upon the beautiful town they live in, its a huge slope and it looks like one of those Italian/ French towns that people with an art hoe aesthetic would call Paradise. As the train approached I get my cat and I set off to look for their place. It didn't take long to find their house since it was down the road from the train station, which was at the bottom of the slope town. I knock on the door and I see my aunt in a vintage dress reaching with open arms to hug me. She tells me she's sorry for what happened to my mom and greets my cat. She also mentions that my uncles at work but will be home soon.  Moochi seems to like her. I go to my room and unpack. All there was in the room was a table with an empty book also a lamp on the corner of the table.  there's a pencil inside the book spine.  That's what it said in the note inside the front cover. It's from my cousin. She says she hopes I like the room she left and that she's sorry about my mom. My aunt tells me that I'm enrolling in public school tomorrow. Great, another test of my social anxiety.  The bed that's in the room feels nice and comfy, it smells like oranges for some reason though. I shut my eyes and fall asleep. I see flashbacks of the funeral they had for my mom. One moment there are people crying than they start laughing and another moment they disappear. Than I am at an empty marriage ceremony and I see a girls cheek. She's crying blood and she's swooshing at me. Now her heads on fire. I'm under water and I'm drowning. I wake up sobbing in tears.

Waffles for breakfast, I come downstairs and greet my aunt and uncle. Yet again another "I'm sorry about you mom thing".  Thanks for reminding me. They don't have a car and they have errands to run so I have to walk to school. That saves the embarrassment of being with a relative on the first day of school. But I have no idea what that's like.  I eat my waffles, gulp down my orange juice, and I take my backpack and set out the door on my way to school. As I walk away from the house I see my aunt and uncle waving at me from a distance. I see my cat sitting on the window ledge and I wave goodbye. He yawns while stretching out. I figured out my way to school easy enough, it's on the other side of town though right the corner top on the right of the slope. I walk past a French  bakery on my way to school, they look like might have macaroons. I've always wanted to try one but mom said it was too much sugar. Mom........... Do I miss her? My head hurts to think about it. As I'm walking I see a girl wearing low top sneakers and noodle strap shirt with a monark butterfly embroidery on the top. She has short and vivid ginger hair with pink oval sunglasses. She's wearing jeans that are cuffed enough to show her "art" socks. I just realized she's a art hoe. If I were to determine my aesthetic I would say coffee girl. Writing an essay on a laptop or journal with a latte. Coffee,  that's the only thing my mom let me drink that was considered bad for your health. I get to school and I go to the principals office. They introduced me to the school yatayatayata "we hope you feel welcomed" "don't be shy to tell us if you have any problem with other students".  I'm walked to my class by my principal and I get introduced to my teacher. Her names Miss. Ellie. She looks like she has a cottage core aesthetic. I see the girl I saw on the street at the end of the classroom. As soon as she stares at me I look away. My teacher introduces me and everyone introduces themselves to me as well. My seat is in front of the art hoe girl. She tapped my shoulder and whispers "hey, I'm Korra. What's your name"?.  I'm too shy to talk so I just write on a piece of paper "saiko". And pass it to her. She than smiles. I smile back. As the end of the school day passes we walk home together. I finally speak to her.  She's my first ever acquaintance. I ask if she wants to go to the french pastry shop on my way home and she says sure. She tells me her dad owns the shop. We get to the shop and there's a classic little bell that rings at the door opening. I hear a loud "hi sweety" and I hear Korra scream "hi dad, I made a new friend. Her names saiko, come say hi". I felt anxious because it was enough meeting her and greeting a whole class. Her dad looks like a lumberjack dressed as a Baker. It looks funny. He reaches out his hand and I'm too shy to shake it. Korra chuckles and says "don't be shy he doesn't bite". I than shake his hand and say "nice to meet your Korra's dad". Wow I met 2 people in one day. My mom would have a heart attack. She always tried to hide me for some reason. I buy some macaroons and l leave to go home. Korra insists to walk back to where I live. We get to this point where it's sorta an brick road sheltered by trees shedding their leaves and flower pettles. I stop walking. I saw an illusion of my mom. She was crying. I than felt my heart make me anxious and scared that I soon passed out.

I wake up in the spot I passed out but it's now dark outside. It got a little colder. I than proceed to walk home. I remember hearing Korra's voice yell "SAIKO" when I was passing out. But when I woke up she was nowhere to be found. There was a note on my sweater that said "saiko, I have no idea where you live and we don't have a spare room since our relatives are over so here's a token of my appreciation, see you at school on monday" right next to me there was a basket of macaroons. At least she didn't leave without explanation.  I'll give her that. I get home and I see my aunt run up to me and cry saying "we were worried sick about you".  I told them I was exploring the town and didn't realize it was late. Than I apologized. I told them it won't happen again. They than got the idea that I should have a phone. I say OK and go to take a shower and get ready for bed.  But I wanna record this day. Make sure I never forget. I started school, I met 2 New people,  I saw an illusion. I didn't tell my aunt or uncle about the illusion because I didn't want then to worry. It will eventually go away. Right? I drop off the basket of macaroons on the desk and give one to moochi.
