As she sat there still mourning the loss she had just gone through, she felt paranoid far more than she usually did. She always felt paranoid after her one and only love got murdered when she was out cold, sleeping next to him.
She was woken up to an agonized scream that night. She opened her eyes to some one towering over her love's presumably dead body. He had stopped struggling seconds ago and she had to witness the killer staring at her holding a knife in front of their face. It was dark so she couldn't figure out who but what she could see was their eyes filled with blood lust so deep that they looked as if they had never held a glimpse of humanity. They were like endless voids of darkness that had never witnessed light.
They were what you could describe as complete madness and they were staring right back at her. She could tell they were smiling, enjoying her expression of complete fear illuminated by the little moon light that peeped through the curtains.
She could tell they were smiling from their eyes. The eyes that looked as if they could never feel remorse for what they just did.
Then the neighbors could be heard entering the room she turned her head to look at them, big mistake. She turned to look back but they were long gone leaving a window open letting the chilly autumn breeze in.
The neighbors turned the lights on in the room and she was the first to scream after which was the neighbors own wife who fainted due to the sheer brutality she couldn't handle.
The lover saw what had been her love.
He no longer looked like the one she called her very own lover. His chestnut brown hair doused in his own blood his beautiful face carved into with a sharp blade. His forehead had a deep knife wound which looked to be the ending blow.
His eyes or where his eyes were all bloody, they looked as if the back of the knife was used to plunge into them. They looked as if plucked out with a hand right after, they were considering they were two empty, hollow holes now. His nose was split down the middle chopped in half like you would chop a fruit. His neck looked bruised with clearly visible hand prints on them. He was a tough guy so it couldn't have finished him or at least even knocked him out. His chest was decorated with bleeding knife wounds each one looked like it was done with accuracy as if it was far more enjoyed than anything else. His stomach was just as badly damage with multiple jabs here and there but it was all to accurate to be a coincidence. After the autopsy it was made clear that the killer was aiming for all the right places with stabs being given to vital organs including the stomach, liver, a kidney and even the appendix. His legs were broken as well as his arms. It looked worse than it ever would in a horror movie.
The sights still haunt her but what haunted her more was the fact that after 6 months the killer was still not found there wasn't even a single lead found. It meant that the monster was still out there waiting to strike.
Today she felt extra paranoid than she usually did. She didnt know why but she couldn't bring herslef to move on no matter how much she wanted even though her psychiatrist had suggested countless times with numerous medicines and therapies. It wasn't even working it just gave someone reason to probe her for personal information she'd rather keep to herslef.
She double, no triple chekced all locks cuz she wasnt taking any chances. She felt that wherever she went there were eyes following her. She felt the malice that she had felt staring into those eyes, she shivered at the thought. She shrugged it off and went to her bed as per her routine. Her bed was in a completely different place, queer, she grew extra paranoid but told herself it is alright. She closed her eyes and tried nooding off but to no avail.
Then she heard something but didn't move. She kept her eyes open thinking of all the possibilities that could take place.
She needed to do something anything but deep down she knew it was too late.
She felt weight shifting on the other side of the bed she didn't dare to turn and look. Who ever it was creeped closer and closer and closer.
Her heart was pounding against her ribcage. Then she felt a hand grab her arm. She came face to face with the merciless eyes she hoped to never ever see again.
