"Mom, I'll be fine. New York is gonna be the safest bet for me. He won't know that I'm moving there. He's in jail right now. I need to leave here before he gets let out." I said, my back turned against my mom, looking out the window. I turned and looked at her with a concerned look.

She looked at me, tears in her eyes. "Promise me you will be safe. Promise me you won't let random people in, and promise me you'll bring pepper spray and your pocket knife everywhere." She was rambling. I looked at her with worried eyes. "Of course. I don't want it to happen again."

                                                                                   Few months ago

I was walking with my best friend, Amanda. She is a really good person, She's funny and overprotective. I felt a pair of eyes on me, But I didn't say anything. We walked into the ice-cream shop and went up to the counter and ordered 2 vanilla cones. While we were walking out, I saw his face, just smiling at me. I didn't want him to know I saw him. When we got a few minutes from home, I told Amanda I saw him. She obviously flipped her shit. When we got home, I saw a dark colored car out in front of my house. I ran in the house, Amanda close by. The lights were turned off. I went up stairs and we searched, And I saw somebody move out of my room into the hallway. I immediately was paralyzed with fear. The way the house was, out of the hallway there was my room, my brother's room, my parents room, and the kitchen. The only other way to get out of the house besides the front door was the backdoor. We heard it shut and then we heard nothing else.

"Ma'am, We found some stuff that may be concerning. Your dresser drawers were open and we found some random glove. Is it possible it was a crazy ex?" The officer asked me. "I know who it was. His name is John Oliver. He's been stalking me." I said shakily. The officer wrote some things down. "We will keep an eye out. If you notice anything missing that you think he would take, or you notice any suspicious activity call 9-1-1 immediately. Be extra cautious." The cops waved and then they left.

                                                             At the airport.

"I love you guys. I promise I will be fine. This is the best. Remember, I'm always a phone call away."

Michael, My little brother was taking this really hard. "Sissy, Please don't leave," He said hugging me tightly. I hugged him tight. "It's for my safety bubs," I looked him in the eyes.

"Flight 56A is departing in 5 minutes."

"That's my flight, guys. I love y'all. I'll call when I'm off the plane." I smiled, trying to hold back tears. I gave Michael a tight hug and hugged my family. I grabbed my suitcase and rolled it to security.
