tears falling down at the party.

saddest little baby in the room.

there she sat in the bathtub, crying her heart out. what was she doing in here? wasn't she the host of the party? why wasn't she out there having fun?

well perhaps the fact that she just caught her sober boyfriend making out with some chick. and some chick happened to be her best friend. she played the scene in her head over and over again.

she had gone upstairs to grab blankets for the colder people. after all, it was a slumber party. she folded the blankets neatly, and lifted them into her arms. she walked carefully down the stairs. "hey, could i get so-" she had peaked over the wall of blankets.

there her boyfriend stood. with her best friend groped in his arms. their lips smashed together, his hands tracing her body. she gasped, dropping the blankets. her eyes started to water. she had remembered that he hadn't even touched one single drop of alcohol.

she ran up the stairs, shoving the bathroom door open, kicking out the weird stoner kids. she climbed into the tub.

and that's where she sat now. she wept loudly, but she knew her cries wouldn't be heard over the music and the movie being played in the living room.

she wiped at her eyes with her sweater sleeves. why couldn't she stop?

fears, tell me fears, don't get me started.

i get a little grey hair for every scare you share.

the door opened, and her head snapped over to see who had caught her crying. in her tub.

oh. it had been the school's rebel. levi. he had always invited himself to parties. this time, she invited him. they never talked before, being polar opposites. him being the pale, dark haired troublemaker. and her being the (s/c), (h/c) (h/t) haired popular sweetheart.

but she had always wished to be his friend. she knew he couldn't have just a cold heart.

he scanned her over before scoffing. "quiet it down in hear. i can hear you from across the hall." he looked in the mirror, brushing his fingers through his hair.

she sniffled, wiping her tears, holding back a small sob. "i-i'm sorry... i..."

"don't. i don't need to know your problems. just..." he glanced over at her, before sighing. "you caught him, right? cheating on you?"

she looked at him confused. "h... how did you know?"

levi shook his head, wadding up some toilet paper, passing it to her. as she blew her nose, he explained. "we used to be friends... before you moved here and became everyone's favorite sweet angel. every girl he dated, he would cheat on. i used to try and stop him, but... it was always too late. then you came. and he blocked me off."

she nodded slowly, throwing the dirty tissue into the trash bin.

those aren't meant to bend.

no, those aren't meant to bend.

after the quiet silence between the two, levi turned and startes to leave. she looked up, nervous.

"n-no!" his hand froze as the doorknob was turned all the way. he let go, turning around. "p-... please don't leave me alone. i..."

she couldn't think of a reason why she wanted him to stay. he sighed, walking up beside the tub. he sat down next to the tub, resting his arm on the wall of the tub.

"i won't."

she glanced over, and smiled ever so slightly. "thank you," she mumbled.

tears slowly traveled along her cheeks, as she could only replay the scene in her head. his hands on her ass. his hands squeezing. their lips mashing. their agressive grinding against one another.

she let out a quiet sob, as she leaned her head back against the wall. "y'know..." she started. "if we were seen together..."

"it would be a total shocker." he finished. she chuckled, softly.

she rubbed her cheeks, wiping the tears away. but they just kept going. "i... i can't stop crying. at this point..." she glanced over, to see that he had been looking at her. was he looking the whole time? "a-at this point, i don't think i'm crying about him."

she watched as levi glanced down, before back up at her. she watched as he thought to himself. then how he hesitated. then she watched as his hand slowly reached for her own.

with his own hand, he opened her balled up fist, his fingers soft. he massaged her palm, and she didn't realize how good it felt. his fingers gently rubbed at her tense palm. he slowly slipped his fingers against hers, before intertwining their hands. she looked back up at him, and for once he looked nervous.

she tightened her grip, and even more tears fell. "don't bottle it up." he simply said.

she smiled through the sadness, and sobs soon escaped her lips.

and they both sat there, her sobs echoing through the bathroom. once her sobs started to quiet down, and her sniffles stopped, levi finally looked at her.

her hair was a mess, and her face lost all its color, except red. her eyes were bloodshot and puffy. but yet, in his eyes, he could see the art.

and she finally looked at him.

his hair was slightly ruffled, and his eyes looked tired. his eyes held the same glare. except, this time, she could see past it. she could see the art.

and maybe he just had glanced at her lips.

and maybe she had glanced at his too.

and maybe he had started to lean in.

and maybe she had started to lean in too.

and they sat in the bathroom, kissing. kissing their hearts out. it felt so aggressive, yet loving. it felt so late, yet the right time.

it felt so right, yet so different.

tears falling down at the party.

saddest little baby in the room.

fears, tell me fears, don't get me started.

i might die.
