Chapter 8:

Mistake

~Russell~

Russell had a bad habit of pushing aside his problems rather than dealing with them directly. He used certain methods in order to cure the symptoms of his self induced misery. The outcomes varied, depending on the situation he was facing, the paths leading in different direction although they still lead him to the same conclusion. None of them solved a single thing. He'd rather chase his tale in circles all day long instead of asking for a bone.

Russell's small interaction with, he who shall not be named, caused him a great deal of mental breakdowns, even though the encounter hadn't lasted very long. He shouldn't have asked such a question, Russell knew what state it would put him through. Throughout the ride to Gunnar's home, thousands of questions spiraled through his mind all at once. What did he have to say? Would things have turned out differently? So many more that he simply dismissed the way he always did, and it was on to his usual method. He dropped off Gunnar and took off to accomplish his usual cure.

That's all he could remember.

He was now currently stuck in an unknown room, laying beside a man he'd never seen before. He tried to remember what he's done the night before. Although the fact that they were both laying nude under a mound of tussled blankets along with their clothes scattered all around the room, made it pretty clear what they'd done together.

Russell carefully lifted himself into a sitting position, as to not disturb the man from his slumber.

(So he wouldn't get caught sneaking out.)

He had a certain policy.

Rule #1

Never stay over night.

He found that even after getting a full work up, most men would always ask for seconds.

Rule #2

Never sleep with anyone more than once.

He found it hard to get rid of them after a couple of booty calls. Sometimes the other would expect more out of him.

Rule #3

Never give out personal contact information.

Once again, he found it hard to get rid of the other with a certain piece of information given away.

Russell was now a no strings attached kind of guy.

He knew his old self would surely be disappointed in him. Although, he didn't really know who that person was anymore.

Just as he was about to retrieve his boxers, a hand was gliding down his back, fingers tickling upon his skin. "Last night was amazing, how about we have a repeat?" He knew the voice was meant to be seductive, and it was anything but. It was all nasal, the words sloppily slurred together.

He tried desperately not to cringe. But, he found himself shooting out of bed, despite his nude state. He stumbled around the room, collecting each item of clothing, shoving them on with evident haste.

He couldn't help but sneak a peak, curiosity aching to put a face to the messy voice.

A young man lay sprawled out upon the bed, he was obviously a few years younger than Russell, although now he couldn't help but feel like he'd slept with a toddler. Due to the childishly eager gleam in his eyes. Russell's curiosity ate at him again, he was well ahead of himself as he blurted out a single question.

"How old are you?" he asked warily.

"Just turned twenty one yesterday!" The red head beamed, obviously proud of himself for finally reaching the age of "maturity."
