Dark Fantasy combines elements of horror, with a gloomy, dark atmosphere. These stories are often bleak and nightmarish, the kind that sends shivers down your spine.
Fairytales & Fables contain the world's most well-known literature. These stories can be adaptations or retellings of the tales we already know and feature magical creatures, such as elves, fairies, and giants.
Fantastic Beasts brings our favourite fantasy creatures to life. From vampires to werewolves, angels to devils — you name it, these stories have them all.
High Fantasy is defined by the epic nature of its setting, themes or plot. These stories contain imaginary worlds, great-scale conflicts and grand clashes between good and evil.
Magical Realism blurs the line between fantasy and reality. These stories depict the real world as having an undercurrent of magic or fantasy, where magical events become daily, normal occurrences.
Medieval, Magic & Mythology feature the tales and characters from long ago. From demigods to supernatural humans, knights and damsels, these stories never grow old.
Middle Grade & Children's Fantasy are often told from a child's perspective and/or are written for children. These stories often possess a quality of innocence and a moral theme.
Quick Reads are short stories or novellas within the fantasy genre. These stories are perfect if you require your regular dose of fantasy, but lack the time to sit through a longer novel.
Romantasy involves two of the biggest genres: romance and fantasy. These stories focus on relationships as an integral part of the plot, against the backdrop of a fantasy world.
Wintery Worlds are stories set in the coldest of places and/or feature winter as an integral part of the plot. Curl up in front of a warm fire and dive deep into our selection of winter-themed tales.
Young Adult Fantasy often feature teenage characters and experiences in a fantasy world. Aimed at a younger audience, these stories focus on the growth and struggles of the characters.

• Pay attention to your grammar and spelling to make sure your story is understandable and accessible.
• Try to convey feeling and emotion in your story with ample depth and detail.
• Keep your content appropriate for all Wattpadders to enjoy.
• Provide complete story information as we like to showcase stories with clear descriptions, relevant tags, and inspired cover art.
• Stay positive and be kind as we respect writers who respect the Wattpad community and fans.
