AZ GIRLS (Korean: 애이지 거르스) is a 2020 reality competition show on Mnet managed and developed by Neptune Records. It was a large-scale project in which the public "produces" a girl group by voting for members out of a pool of 26 contestants from all across the globe.
The winning 7 contestants, with no nationality caps, as voted only by viewers, will be placed under Neptune Records after winning the show and will become a permanent group under that company.
The trainees are either girls that have been put up by their company or are on the verge of leaving their company for not being able to debut, which is why Neptune decided to create the survival show so that they could take these girls under their wing.
