These are going to be more like imagines. There will be more dialogue and will probably be longer.
Thomas- Since you were pretty new to being a runner, you ran with Thomas. But you didn't mind being accompanied by him.
"Come on, y/n, you have to keep up!" you heard Thomas call from in front of you. You realized that you were more tired than normal, and running at a significantly slower pace than you normally do. You tried to run faster, but you were just too tired.
"Thomas, I'm really tired. Do we have time for a water break?" you asked hopefully, still trying to keep up. Thomas slowed to a halt, and you sighed with relief.
"Only for a few minutes. Last time, we almost didn't make it. Do you really want a repeat of what happened yesterday?" You thought back to the previous day. You were running as hard as you could and your head was pounding. The doors were closing in front of your very eyes, and everyone was cheering you on. You and Thomas had gotten distracted by a game you invented using the vines on the maze walls. Thomas had insisted that you keep running, but you both ended up enjoying the game much more than expected. You reached the glade just before the walls slammed shut.
"Not really, no," you began, taking a sip of water, "but I really do like swinging from wall to wall." You finished off the bottle of water in only last swig.
"Y/n, do you realize that we could've been trapped out here?"
"Yes, but you loved my game. I know you did."
"Not as much as I love you," Thomas stated, suddenly changing the mood. You popped a grape into your mouth, glad you packed the refreshing snack.
"Should we keep going?" you ask, afraid he would say yes.
"I think we have a few mo-" He was cut off mid-sentence by the sound whirring and metal against metal. The sound was undoubtedly a griever.
"Which way?" you whispered frantically, hoping you wouldn't attract the grievers with your voice.
"Just follow me." Thanks to the short break, you felt energized and were able to run next to Thomas.
"It sounded pretty far away, I think we can avoid it." Thomas said. Neither of you were expecting the griever to roll up directly behind you.
"Thomas!" you screamed as the griever pulled you closer to its disgusting body using its metal claw-like arm. At first, it looked as though Thomas didn't know what to do. He stood there, completely shocked, with his mouth wide open as if he had just seen a ghost. Then, he snapped out of it.
He reached into his pocket and gripped the handle of his knife that was a requirement for all runners. He sprang forward and slashed wildly at the arm of the griever. Just as the mechanical creature was pulling back its weapon, poised to sting you, Thomas somehow managed to chop off the piece of the leg that had grabbed you. You fell to the ground, and the griever roared in pain. It launched towards the both of you, but you were still in shock. You couldn't move, you were paralyzed by the pure sight of the griever.
Before you knew it, Thomas had thrown you over his shoulder and was running like a madman through the maze. You heard the griever getting closer and closer, but Thomas didn't stop. He didn't even look away.
You looked up to see that the sky was painted a light blue. You knew the maze doors would be shutting in a matter of minutes.
You turned to see that the griever was still chasing you, and he was obviously not ready to give up anytime soon. The groan of metal against cement signaling the doors closing caused Thomas to run even faster. He was running faster than he ever ran before. It almost seemed impossible.
You could now see the glade up ahead, but the walls were closing in on you. With one final sprint, you and Thomas spilled out into the glade.
----------------------------------------------Later that evening, after meeting in the map room and eating dinner, you and Thomas were alone together by the bonfire.
"How did you run so fast today?" you asked suddenly. You had no idea he could run like that.
"I don't know. And I don't want to know. All I know, and all you need to know, is that it was all for you." He wrapped you tightly in a hug, and he kissed you on the forehead.
"I'm so grateful..." You trailed off, falling asleep on his shoulder.
So... Yeah. I will do this same topic for Newt, Minho, and Gally in different parts.
