you were nervous. dear god you were nervous. you had recently moved to tokyo, attending fukurodani academy. although you really didn't have any friends at the school rather, you had a ton of friends over at nekoma.

kuroo and kenma, they were inseparable. you had met them in childhood although you lived in miyagi at that time but now you're here, in tokyo. they were livid when you told them you were moving to tokyo but this quickly died down when you had to break it to them that you were attending fukurodani.

"huh?! you're going to that school?! why not here in nekoma?" kuroo's eyes were wide, his head shaking in disbelief. you shrugged, "it's closer to my parent's workplace. im still here kuroo."

kuroo scoffed, rolling his eyes like the drama queen he is. "can't believe you chose that idiot over me!" you lifted an eyebrow at him. "'that idiot..?'"

"he's talking about fukurodani's team captain." kenma explained, his attention still glued to his video game. his character however, died soon after which ticked the blonde boy off.

"what's so bad about him?" you asked, looking back at kuroo who crossed his arms across his chest. "oh you'll see."

and you did see. you had to choose a club within a week of being at the school and you ultimately chose the volleyball club. today was your first day as the new manager.

you walked into the gym, slightly afraid but still quite determined to do your absolute best. it was huge, compared to the small cramped gyms you were used to back in miyagi.

however, the moment you walked in, all the shouting and yelling ceased as all attention was fixed on you.

you noticed this almost immediately, freezing up. your eyes scanned every member, your eyes landing on one particular member. he had the strangest hair, spiked up with hues with white and black. his eyes were a golden honey color.

"ah, you must be our new manager?" you snapped out of the trance, quickly meeting eyes with the man standing in front of you. he had pitch black hair and matching dark eyes. he spoke with an elegant tone, his voice was soft but calm.

"o-oh! hello! sorry, a-ah. my name is (l/n) (y/n)!" you bowed respectfully. the man was taken aback by your politeness but nodded in response. "it's a pleasure to meet you (l/n)-san. im akaashi, i am the team's vice captain and setter." you beamed, smiling at him. "a-ah! it's so nice to meet you!"
