"I'm sorry, but could you maybe..repeat that?" Skylar said.

"I'd like to take that majestic beast off your hands and all you need to do is name a price." The man repeated with a smile, as if this were everyday business.

Skylar scowled, disgusted.

"My dragon is not for sale nor will he ever be."

His voice had come out calm and full of conviction, but on the inside he was desperately trying to keep himself from panicking. He was not afraid of the man by any means, but more of the rage that rolled off of Dusk in waves. Skylar was pretty sure the only reason he hadn't attacked was the shock of it all. He doubted it would last long though.

Rafael chuckled and shook his head.

"Why not? You could always buy another dragon with the money I give you."

"BUY!?" Dusk hissed as he began to shake, barely restraining himself. Skylar was getting to the point where he didn't really care if Dusk lost control, but the common sense in him said that would be a very bad idea.

"Dusk, calm your shit!"

"Calm!? He's talking about me like I'm a damn accessory!" He assented this with another growl.

Skylar gritted his teeth and took a deep breath. Being nice would get him and Dusk out of this conversation unscathed while violence and anger would make it infinitely worse.

"Oh, come on! Let's just kick his ass, or better yet let me eat him!"

Ignoring Dusk, Skylar spoke quickly.

"I understand your a business man, obviously. But, I can not sell him to you. He means too much to me. In all honesty, I don't know why you'd want him."

Barthalowmew answered first.

"For appearances you dim-minded idiot. He has dozens of dragons in an array of colors and sizes. The more dragons a man has the powerful he is. You really are a country bumpkin."

Skylar snorted in disgust at this. Rarely had he come across anyone that thought of dragons were less than equals.

"It just so happens that this is the first silver dragon he's seen, and he wants it."

Dusk visibly twitched at the word it but kept himself at bay.

Rafael placed a hand on Barthalowmew's shoulder and smiled at him like a son. Skylar resisted the urge to gag.

"As the boy says I've never seen a silver dragon, and as a result, I want to purchase yours." He took a step forward and held up his hands in a show of what Skylar took as peace, but if he was dumb enough to believe that then... well he'd be dumb.

"Surely you'd reconsider." He said with a smile that said something along the lines of 'if you don't I'll make your life hell'. Or something like that.

Excuses ran through his mind as he tried to find something that would get the man off his damn back.

"How about telling him that I'll rip his head off if he keeps this up!" Dusk suggested angrily and Skylar was sure that he wasn't joking even if it had sounded like one.

Skylar looked at the epsilons behind Rafael until his eyes landed on Mikayla. The smug grin on her face was still present and he forced his hands not to tighten into fists as not to show any sign of aggression.

He met her eyes and didn't look away, and neither did she. Her eyes seemed to hold other emotions and thoughts then her face portrayed. It almost looked as if she was sorry.
