Goodbyes seem so formal,
When your living by the hours,
Everything seem so smooth good,
When the lights on full blast bare footed on the porch,
I remember if it was yesterday,
You satting in your recliner mouth open wide with family,
Bbq fresh in the pit I can still smell,
As plates was passed all around,
Those used to be the times when goodbyes was casual,
When we meet up for the second time,
Days, months, years,
We'll always come home to see you,
Now every goodbye it's the same,
That stale taste on my tongue,
When I knock on your door waiting your arrival,
It all feels so cold on my heart,
Like coal down my throat,
It burns when your not their,
Knowing you never be their,
It hurts but I'll find alway to bare
Until we meet again
