The light in the car winks and blinks a quick hello as you open my door. How could I ask for more? I pour my body into the seat, without defeat, and plant my feet pretty and neat. I welcome temporary retreat as you take to the street with your thoughts discreet and chained within your brain. How I wish to make them mine, to discover and unwind the complexity of your mind... to find the simplicity of your heart. Perhaps this night will lend you to me and set free the animosity so we may fall in love again.

The light from the star-filled night bends and reshapes your shadow. It softly folds in new thoughts like whispers persuading, captivating, changing my heart. Now I look at you with tilted head and open eyes; my perspective shifted, residue sifted, and virulence lifted. Ah, I finally see...you...and me...free. Let us skinny dip in this discovery, floating on it’s reverie.

Until this clever light again steals you away from me. Chaining your heart delicately. Locking away your thoughts in captivity. Oh, merciless light...how you haunt me eternally.
