"Get inside," the ALTER demanded in a callous tone.

"You can't make me! I don't want to do this anymore! You people are sick!" he said almost ardently.

"You signed the agreement. You signed the contract. YOU knew what you were getting into," ALTER reminded him. "Now delete get in, and delete it already!"

"Screw you guys! I'm out of here!" he yelled in a bitter and malevolent tone.

"I was afraid it would come to this," ALTER walked over to the control panel.

"Remove me! I don't give a shit anymore! This wasn't part of the laws! I built this place as a haven! You can't do this to me!"

"I'll run CREATION however I please. You were too soft; you considered this a haven. I will use this place and the technology to bring out what people hide inside them, what they are afraid to say, what they refuse to believe," ALTER said then hit the yellow button.

-------

I got up at 6:30 AM as I do every morning, and got ready for school. I find it very hard to leave my bed sometimes; I usually stay up late the night before and pay the consequences in the morning. I would eat breakfast, but I just don't have the time! It was almost time for me to leave and I haven't even gotten my bag ready nor had I brushed my teeth. I was practically running around the house at mach4 speed.

Fortunately, I made it to the bus stop on time. However, I did not see Alex on the bus today. He usually comes to school; in fact, I don't think he's ever missed a day of high school so far. Not even if he's puking his guts out. It might seem like I'm concerned, but it's just a little surprising.

When I made it to school I sat with my friends in the cafeteria in the 15 minutes of free time we get before school starts, and all my other friends noticed the same thing I did.

"Isn't he the one who said that you shouldn't miss a day of high school? Especially in your Junior year?" Russel commented contemptuously, "And yet here he is, missing a day of school! Never thought that nerd would do it,"

"Yeah, kind of proud of him," Natalie said while showing a face of sincere joy. Natalie usually skipped school to just stay home. I can't imagine having the option to just stay home because you feel like it. But for a girl who skips a lot, she does reasonably well in her classes.

The bell rang and it was time to go to homeroom. I usually walk with Alex but I guess I have to walk with Natalie today. She's kind of annoying, her voice sounds like a police siren and she always talks about things no one is interested in. She is in my friend circle and has the same homeroom as me, so I might as well. When we got to homeroom I sat at my table, and I asked my friends if they knew why Alex wasn't here. They didn't respond at first, but Miles reluctantly whispered "His dad went missing,"

"Wait what, what do you mean missing?" I asked surprisingly.

"Are you deaf? Which word didn't you understand?"He lashed out while still whispering, "My dad told me yesterday," Miles' dad is the sheriff, so if anything happens around town Miles and his dad are the first to know.

The rest of homeroom was quiet, I assume the rest of the class heard our conversation and didn't know how to react.

The rest of the day went by pretty quickly, all my classes that day were pretty easy and quick. On the bus ride home I texted Alex if he was okay and he didn't respond. I can only imagine what he and his mom are going through. My mom thought we should visit them and keep them company, so my mom, my dad, and I went over to their house to share our condolences.
