Chapter 7

I rushed inside and ran up to my room. I changed into a short baby blue strapless dress and some flats to match. I'm glad that I had some nice outfits in my suitcase or else I don't know what I would do.

Then I ran a brush through my hair and curled it. I added some light makeup like it was second nature to me and quickly brushed my teeth.

"Addy!" Tasha yelled from downstairs. I did a quick once over in the mirror and headed downstairs.

"Hey Tasha." I smiled at her.

"Hello sweetie. Let's get going. We don't want to miss our reservations."

We walked over to her car and started driving. We drove for about ten minutes, just listening to the radio before Tasha broke the silence.

"So how was your day with Mason? Did you have fun? Learn anything new?"

"It was a lot of fun. And I learned a ton of new things."

"Good. Oh we're here!" I looked over at a huge building. It looked like a five star restaurant.

"Wow." Was all I could say.

"Come on Addy." We got out and valet came over and drove her car to the parking lot.

"Reservation for two, Berry." Tasha said to the lady at the front.

She looked over her sheet quickly, then grabbed two menus before leading us over to our table.

"Your server will be right with you." She walked back to the front.

"This place is amazing! We didn't have to go anywhere expensive like this."

"Oh don't worry about it dear. It's my treat. So tell me about your day."

"Well-"

"Hello. My names Paul, I'll be your server today. Can I start you ladies off with a drink?"

"I'll have a Bloody Mary please." Tasha said.

"Just a lemonade for me." I smiled at him and he walked away.

"So you were saying?"

"Oh yeah. Well first I helped Mason and Chris take the horses out into the pasture. Then we did some work with a horse that was recovering from its sprained ankle. We were getting hungry for lunch after that so Mason took me out on a picnic to one of his favorite spots in the woods. That's when things got interesting."

"How so?" Tasha glanced up at me from her menu.

"Well-" Paul came back. He really has the worst timing.

"Here's your drinks ladies. Are you ready to order?"

"Yes I'll have a stake, medium rare." Tasha ordered.

"Okay, and you?" He looked at me.

"Umm, I'll have the chicken alfredo."

"Okay. Those will be done soon." He walked away again.

"So how did things get interesting?"

"Well, we were just eating and talking when we heard growling in the woods. Then two giant wolves came out!"

Tasha gasped. "Oh my goodness! Are you and Mason alright?" I thought the act she was putting on was a little funny and almost laughed.

"Yeah, we're fine. So then Mason told me to run, so I did. But then I realized he could die out there! So I ran back to see him completely fine, cleaning up the picnic like nothing had happened. So I asked him what happened and he said he had to show me something. Then he turned into a wolf."

Tasha gasped again. "He's not supposed to show anyone!"

"I was terrified, but then he convinced me to let him explain. So we went back and he told me that I am his mate which means I am most likely a wolf. And yes, I know you and your family are wolves too. He explained about the pack and what fur colors mean and about the Wolf Pack."

"You're Masons mate?"

"Yeah but I'm still trying to comprehend the whole I'm a wolf thing first. I'm going to meet his dad tomorrow so he can help me channel my wolf. It might help with the identity thing but it could also help with my memory."

"Wow I can't believe I didn't realize you were a wolf. Let alone the Alphas sons mate! This is so huge! Now you really have a place here so even if you don't find your real pack, you have us to take care of you." She smiled at me as our food arrived.

" Yeah but I can't help feeling like I'm missing something huge about my past. I really hope Alpha Devin will be able to help me tomorrow."

I started eating my chicken that Paul brought over. The service here was really fast.

"Don't get frustrated if you can't turn tomorrow. It's a lot of work for someone who hasn't turned in a while. Even teenagers shifting for the first time find it incredibly difficult and painful. But don't be scared either. That makes your wolf want to hide."

"Thanks Tasha."

We talked about the pack and life on the ranch and she even offered me a job. I would start in two days.

After dinner we headed home. After a day like today anyone would be exhausted.

I trudged up the stairs to my room and got into a shower. I let the waterspout over me, washing away memories of today for now.

I stepped out and got my pjs on before climbing into my nice, warm bed and drifted off to sleep.
