The trees, street signs, and city lights flew by like a river of color. Our driver coasted the traffic with ease, and even though Lily was talking I was completely in a different dimension

I would be meeting Johnny Depp. The John Christopher Depp. In. 10 minutes.

Of course, a girl like me would be panicking. I have been admiring this man since Edward Scissorhands. What could you expect, and his newest Pirates of the Caribbean was outstanding. Jack always made me laugh.

I luckily got to watch his interview with Ellen before Lily dragged me out of our hotel room to meet him after he finished the show. Dare I say he looked tasteful, even at 53...

The thought made me turn red in the face, and I thanked god my face was against the cool touch of the car window and that Lily was now busy on her phone.

Ari! Stop it right now! He is old as hell, and you're still technically a minor, and that's your BEST FRIENDS DAD!

I was darting my eyes over to Lily like a fugitive, wondering if she could hear my thoughts. That's how in sync we are, it's a horrifying, beautiful thing.

Lily was immersed in her own world, so I relaxed but wandered back to the thought of Johnny.

The interview he did today was very funny to me, he could say something simple but make it sound outrageous and grand. That charming smile, his neverending facial expressions, that chuckle he let out when shy or amused. And his style, he style took my breath away. What a man, really.

Once again, you're being a whore over your Best. Freinds. Father.

My mind made it a priority to remind me of this fact every time I thought of him.

There was a silent ring, and the driver told us we were close to our destination. Lily and I thanked him in a soft "thank you" she then glanced at me and smirked holding back a laugh.

I squinted at her, "What's so funny Lil?" She shrugged, still smirking, "You're looking a little nervous over there."

I shook my head innocently, "Why would I be nervous?" I pursed my lips and tried to hold her stare. I failed miserably, and Lily burst into giggles.

"You actual liar, you're fucking nervous! You keep biting your lip, and you're doing that wide eye -puppy dog thing!" Lily pointed out every sign, and she was right.

I was a blushing catastrophe, "Am not!" I childishly whined. "Are too~" Lily poked my side, still smiling.  "Bullshit, I'm totally fine!~" I whisper yelled, covering my face.

"Oh, so you DEFINITELY weren't watching Ellen this afternoon to see my dad? And you DEFINITELY  didn't take an HOUR to pick THAT outfit?.." Lily teased in a -dont even try to deny- tone, leaving me cornered.

"No.." I meekly whispered back. Lily rolled her eyes, "Ok, Ari, we both know you're nervous."

The car started to slow down, and the view of a beautiful tower of penthouses came into sight. The building and landscape looked stunning in the late California sunset glow.

Lily stopped her teasing and hopped out of the town car. We thanked the driver, waited for the doorman to grab our bags, and walked in. The lobby was grand, illustrious, and classy.

Lily spoke to the receptionist, and soon enough we were on our way up to the top floor.

While Lily was on a call for a photoshoot I watched the floor numbers flash in red, the closer we got the more insecure I felt.
