One Week, an Edward Cullen X Reader

Meeting Y/N

When it hurts to move, to breathe, to talk, and to live.. What will you do with your last week of life?

Y/N shot up from their sleep, rubbing her eyes. They felt the normal pain shooting through their body, letting out a soft sigh. This teenager was not your average type. They had a rare disease that killed people from the inside out; targeting your muscles and nerves first, then slowly consuming you alive. Y/N shakily stood, limping to the doorway of the orphanage. "Another day. Another chance." They said quietly, looking down at their hand, before twisting the doorknob open. This was a typical day for Y/N, waking up, repeating that phrase, and then eating. After that, they would head to school, go to each of their classes, and spend the rest of the time talking to their friends. The Cullens. Normally, the Cullen family didn't associate with others, however, as their father was Y/N's doctor, she talked with them regularly. The small teenager headed to school, letting out a small breath. They shouldn't be here. Carlisle told them to stay at home and rest, but they couldn't help but want to spend her last days with their friends.

"Hey, Nerds!" They chirped, heading over to the group

The group looked over at them, smiles appearing on all but Jasper's face, who, as always, looked as if he were in pain "Hey Y/N!" Alice chirped, running over and hugging them tightly

"How're you?" Y/N asked softly, hugging their best friend

"That doesn't matter- Dad said you were supposed to be at home!" She worried, looking the other up and down

"Hey, if i have a week left of life, i'm spending it with my best friends." Y/N said simply, nodding "Besides, i want to be remembered as more than a sloth when i die-" They snorted

Alice laughed softly, but nodded, leading them back to the group gently. They slowly felt the pain leaving them, as Jasper stared them down. They brushed it off, though, leaning against Alice happily.

"I'm really glad you all aren't camping today." Y/N hummed, letting out a soft breath "I really wanted to see you."

They pulled out a small bag, handing small twenty sided dice to each of them.

Edward was given a black and blue marble die, Alice a red and gold one, Jasper a red and black one, Emmet black and purple, and Rosalie a purple and blue one.

"Do you like them?" They asked softly

They all nodded, giving their hugs as it was time to head home.
