MONROE SAT WITH HER BACK against Mattia's bed, declining Kairi's call for the third time in the past ten minutes. As soon as he had told them all he was on his way, Mattia had pulled up moments later and rescued her from the situation she had no interest in partaking in.

Currently, her friend was intently focused on his live, reading comments about various things. Only when she heard her own name did Monroe stand up, finally revealing herself to the viewers.

"What are me and Monroe? We're the best of friends — she's my shawty," Mattia grinned, turning around once he saw her in the camera. In one quick movement, he grabbed her arm and pulled her into him, her body falling so that she was sitting on his leg and she silently cursed him. Of course, the views began to go crazy at their proximity, some calling her a whore and the others cheering that this was finally happening.

Monroe squinted and picked a question to answer, not bothering to move Mattia's hand which had fallen around her waist and rested on her lap. "What happened with you and Kairi? Um, I don't want to put our business out there right now but just know that me and Kairi are not together anymore, and that's all I have to say for that one."

Mattia grinned at her response and began to answer a few more questions, freezing when he saw that Kairi had finally joined the live. The viewers, seeming to think that they were still close, cheered in response to his arrival but Monroe felt like her stomach was flipping every way except the way it was supposed to.

Mattia scoffed as he saw Kairi's comment, not bothering to respond because like Monroe had said, it was time for them to stop putting their personal life on show for the rest of the world to scrutinize. He was tired of having to defend himself and Monroe, wanting more than anything to be able to do soemthing without another's input on it.

Monroe, mirroring his actions, kept silent even thought he knew she had read what he had said. He knew that no matter how much she hated to admit it, what Kairi had done had hurt her far more than she had expected. He also knew that she was guilty for even feeling that way after she had done the same exact thing nearly a month ago.

Kairi wasn't done yet though, answering questions himself as people were still estatic that he was among them. Nobody had yet to connect the dots of what had happened until one person commented, setting off the onslaught of frenzied fans.

Mattia felt Monroe tense up in her spot and quickly tightened his arm, grabbing her hand out of view from the camera. She met his eyes on the screen and gave him a small nod before smiling, quickly dismissing that the fact wasn't true. The fans didn't seem to care though, quickly turning on Kairi as if they hadn't been excited only seconds ago.

Monroe quickly said a curt goodbye and got off of Mattia's lap, walking off the camera where she flung herself onto the bed. Mattia did the same and ended the live, tossing his phone onto the desk before he walked towards her. He took a seat on the edge of his bed and took a deep breath as his girl scrolled through her instagram feed.

"This is so annoying," she whispered, curling up even more, not that he had thought it was possible, but she wanted to disappear at the moment and this was the best she could do. Mattia sighed, wrapping his arms around her once more, only this time she didn't leave.

"I know, but I'm here and I'm not leaving."
