The next day I got up and got ready to meet Coop at the park.

I slipped on my checkered vans and slipped my phone in my back pocket before grabbing my small little book bag and throwing my charger, money, chapstick, earbuds, my keys and lipgloss in it before walking out my door locking it behind me and walking down the street to the park. My mom works at a doctors office so she is barely ever home. I said hey to a couple people I knew as I walked to the park. Being the only white girl in the hood makes it where everyone knows your name yea there is a couple other white girls at Crenshaw high but they don't live in Crenshaw really they live beside it in a nice neighborhood. When I got to the park me and Coop sat at the bench and talked for a while before she got called over by a couple guys toward the basketball court so while she went over there I walked over to the vending machine to get a bottle of water. As I pressed the button I hard a familiar voice from behind me. "Well if it isn't Victoria" Cameron said I grabbed my water bottle before turning around to see Cam and some tall guy I've never seen before beside him " hey Cam" I said about to walk off "This is Victoria the only white girl in the hood" Cam said to the guy beside him " Vic this is Darnell, he just moved here and he's taking Chris's spot" Cam said smirking while the guy Darnell look awkward from that statement "Well I can promise y'all one thing Chris will be back and will be taking his spot back" I said "Also welcome to Crenshaw Darnell, I'm sure you'll enjoy it here" I said smiling at Darnell which he returned "Yo Tori" I heard Coop call me so I turned around and walked back over to Coop back at the bench which I joined her. "You know that was he guy that Spencer's dad brought from Nevada right" Coop said looking at me like I had 2 heads "No well don't tell Spencer but Darnell is pretty cute" I said as I watched him and Cam walk towards another one of the Crenshaw football players when Darnell look at me giving me a smile which I returned before putting my focus back on Coop "Yea Spencer doesn't really like him but he doesn't seem that bad to me" Coop said shrugging her shoulders "Spencer's jealous ya know, I mean his dad was taking care of another's guys son instead of his own I mean I would be jealous too" I said the last part as a whisper looking down but of course Coop heard me and gave me a reassuring smile.
