Like every other day, i greet the nurses taking care of Tayler, tidy his side, then take a seat next to him, normally i chat to him y'know tell him about the drama happening, tell him how everyone misses him before i leave and go take a shower and attempt to eat while waiting for the next visiting hour before repeating the process
"hello Mrs Holder" Sarah smiled
"Sarah" i nod giving a small smile
"doing well? i can't imagine how having your husband in hospital may feel" she said
"i'm holding on" i said
"well i'm praying for a speedy recovery" she said giving me a small hug
i returned it before she bid her fair well. I sat down and looked at Tayler. I trailed my finger over his cheek lightly as if i would wake him
"You have no idea how much i beat myself up for not stopping you, trying harder to keep you." i said softly "I miss you so much, your goofy ass always picking me up, the tickle fights, cuddles, jesus i kissed you once and i want more. I miss you more than i can even measure or render in my mind. i'm so sorry for calling us a waste of time, Please Tayler, please wake up.
I was sobbing now and i hadn't realised
"You honestly seem to love my son" a voice said making me turn abruptly "Wendy Holder"
i quickly wiped the tears off my face with the sleeve of my shirt
"oh no honey, no need for all of that" she said giving me a hug "I heard the doctors say his wife was with him, kind of disappointed i didn't make it to the wedding"
"oh no, we're not married more like friends, but they started calling me Mrs Holder and i didn't want to correct them-
"cause it feels so right?" she interrupted
"yeah" i whispered "but that's kind of your name"
"oh i'm ready to give it up if he would buckle up and find me a daughter in law" Wendy joked
"Your son is a very attractive young man so your wait won't be too long" I smiled small
"How about i take you out to lunch maybe, you can brief me on what happened with Tayler and how he ended up here" She smiled
"are you sure? i can leave you and Tayler together" i offered
"trust me, if i had a dollar for everytime Tayler got into a car accident i'd be a millionaire" she winked making me smile
