"Just ... Keep him away from me ... I don't want to see him", Came Thomas' stern and serious tone before another spoke up hastily.
"I don't think that's a good idea; you can't just keep avoid-" The second voice was Logan's, who his host cut off.
"I don't care, Logan! End of discussion! Got it!" The host spoke in an affirmative tone, not allowing room for argument.
The two stood in momentary silence as the logical side nodded in answer. However, he disagreed with the other choice of not talking it out, as Thomas walked away from the logical side, only to take residence on the sofa. Logan stood bewildered by his host's outburst, watching his every move with precision.
All the while, Virgil sat at the top of the stairs, out of view but remaining within earshot. Earlier in the evening, the anxious side had spoken to Logan for consolidation, hoping he would bring light to the situation. Logan had agreed to have a word with their host to gather information on the situation, although not knowing that Virgil would be listening as the two had their conversation, which shortly escalated into an argument.
Logan snapped out of his analytical state to stand in front of the others before speaking up and bringing more light and clarification to the current events which had taken place earlier on. "You are acting like a child! You can't avoid him because that won't solve anything! You aren't the only one affected; how do you think Virgil feels?" Logan made a wide-arm gesture before seeing Thomas roll his eyes in response, which only fuelled Logan. "HE CONFIDED IN YOU ENOUGH TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH HIMSELF!" Logan shouted, raising his voice accordingly before composing himself once more as he straightened his tie and took a calming breath.
Thomas sat there in brief shock at Logan's outburst. He sure seemed angry for someone who claimed they weren't composed of feelings. However, Thomas didn't back down. Instead, he stood from where he was seated on the sofa, vigorously pushing himself up and shooting daggers at Logan before advancing forwards in a threatening manner. "IT'S TOO LATE! He is to blame for all of this, can't you see? He is a dark side! He is what is wrong with me, Logan!" Logan took a staggering step back as if he had just been struck, only to stare at his host in utter and complete horror at what he said.
Thomas wished he could have taken those words back the second they escaped past his lips, but they had already been spoken, and by then, it was too late. Both Logan and Thomas saw something out of the corner of their eye, causing both their heads to turn with the little gap that was between them. Stood on the step was a heartbroken and doleful male with eye shadow smeared down his face from his onslaught of tears. "I-Is that what you think of me?" Virgil's tone was barely audible as his shoulders shook slightly from his sobbing. He could have used no words for what he felt at that moment. Virgil stumbled back against the steps he was standing on.
Logan was filled with rage as his gaze shifted from the male on the steps to Thomas, unable to comprehend what just happened, only to find himself rooted to the spot with his fists clenched by his side. "ANSWER THE QUESTION!" Virgil's tempest tongue slipped through as he was greeted with silence. Logan was staring at the floor whilst Thomas' eyes never left the logical side. Virgil never needed a spoken answer as he already knew the unspoken answer. After all, he was a part of Thomas. Virgil's breathing picked up as it became more profound and meaningful from the emotional turmoil that raged on.
"Virgil ..." Logan spoke up as he looked towards anxiety, knowing that he could be reckless if the situation called for it. Logan's tone was a warning for both males in the room. It was edged with caution, not wanting Virgil to say or do anything rash and not wanting Thomas to say another word, which could trigger the anxious and upset male. "No, Logan - I won't; you heard him. I'm the problem; I have always been the problem. No matter how many times I have proven myself in the past, I'm always going to be the bad guy!" Virgil was panting as his grip tightened on the bannister, which he used for support. Virgil knew Logan, and he knew his tactics. Reasoning. Not this time.
"I'm done! You're better off without me. He's better off without me." He stated before taking a breath, regaining control over himself and his emotions. He looked from Logan before staring at Thomas with determined and glassy eyes. "Out of sight, Out of mind. Don't worry about ever bumping into me because you won't. I'm going home" At Virgil's last words, Logan piped up in denial. "Virgil, think about this! You're hurting; you don't mean that!" Logan pleaded, fearful of the havoc that his actions could cause. Thomas remained quiet, not understanding the meaning behind the anxious side's words or the logical side's reaction.
Tears now gone, Virgil looked between the two as they returned the gesture. His last glance focused primarily on Thomas, who hadn't realised how much his words affected anxiety. The dark side's features hardened as his eyes darkened within seconds.
"Your dead to me!"
There was no remorse, no feeling, no sorrow behind his words. He disappeared from the room, leaving a distraught and exhausted Logan, accompanied by a shaky Thomas, stranded alone.
What had he done?
