20 Questions Gone Wrong
Max's POV

I smiled softly at the familiar café themed with stars and constellations. It was a simple homey cafe, something about it felt so... comfortable

I saw familiar faces everywhere but unfortunately, I cant be noticed. We entered the café and the little bell rang through the room, a middle aged waitress came up to us with a energetic smile and my heart clenched- it was Ms. Lily, the waitress that always tend to my family

"Hello dears, come" she said kindly and we followed her to a familiar spot near the window, the spot where my family and I usually sit in "The menus are there, I'll be back" she said then tend to another costumer "nice lady" dakota said and I could only hum in agreement

I pick up the menu and pretend to look at the foods, i knew what i want. Chocolate milkshake with mini marshmallows, Lava cake, and regular large fries- the same shit i get every time i go here. I set the menu down and looked at dakot who's already looking at me

"What?" I asked coldly and he just grinned "is there something on my face?" I asked and he shook his head no, still with the sly grin- might I add "is this considered a date, Blue?" He asked and i froze-

"SHUT UP FAGGOT!"

"Dont touch us, we dont want to be gay!"

"Faggot!"

I chuckled bitterly and it made him shiver "what? Is the popular bully turning gay?" I asked and he scoffed "what? You got a problem with that?" He asked angrily and it was my turn to scoff "oh nothing! Maybe because you bullied my cousin's bestfriend for being gay!" I snapped as i slammed a fist into the table

He silenced, I gave a shaky sigh "Give me this, are you gay?" I asked and he bit his lip "no... I- i dont know. I dont care for genders- or anyone for that matter" he answered and I chuckled bitterly "why did you bully then?" I asked and he sighed

"Just drop it, Max" he said and I shivered when he mentioned my name... ugh "are you children done?" Ms. Lily came and asked, I automatically grinned "Chocolate milkshake with mini marshmallows, Lava cake, and Large fries- regular, without cheese" I said and she froze "oh, o remember someone who always ordered that" she said softly- oh shit! I didnt think this through!!!

"How 'bout you, young man?" Ms. Lily asked dakota and i gave a relived sigh "Large cheese fries, chicken nuggets, large Pepsi" he said and she nodded and wrote it down. Ms. Lily looked at me again and i swear i saw a flash of recognition

"Now, you're horrid in English?" I asked and he blushed "y-yeah" he stuttered and I sighed "its just damn grammar" i groaned as he bit his lip "I grew up in the Philippines and im better at english!" Ok, that was a lie but he doesn't need ro know that... "well sorry!" He grumbled like a child and i could only chuckle

I took out my english book along with my notes and opened it at the page "So- Idioms" i grinned and he groaned and slammed his head into the table. Dear God! Please make him a fast learner!

THANK DEAR GOD FOR MERCY

He immediately understood what i blabbered about in the past... 4 hours? It was already lunch and we decided to go to a pizza parlour called Pizza Hub. We entered the pizza parlour and sat at a booth where a waiter got our order "20 questions" dakota suddenly said and i looked at him in confusion

"What did you just say?" I asked and he grinned "20 questions" he repeated and i looked at him in disbelief "what are we? 10?" I asked and he shrugged "come ooon, pleaaase" he whined and i sighed "fine" i grumbled and he brighted up like a kid in a candy store, Its cute...

Wait- DID I JUST CALL HIM CUTE!?

NO! BAD MAXWELL! I gave an uncomfortable cough "U-uh, you go first" i stuttered and he grinned "hmm... what's your... favorite Song?" He asked and i raised a brow "you have the ability to ask anything you want and you choose that?" I deadpaned and he shrugged "i still have 19 more questions" he winked

I gave a defeated sigh "Lo-fi and nightcore" i said and he grinned "you?" I asked and he pondered "ahm... probably classical?" He said with uncertainty. He shrugged then grinned yet again "What's your favorite book genre?" He asked and i laughed

"How can you tell that I like books?" I asked and dakota smirked "that would be a secret" he said and I rolled my eyes "Fantasy and Thrill- believe it or not, Im absolutely smitten with clichés" I giggled- completely lost and he just looked at me

My eyes widened and i shook my head "Uh- Ahm... how did you know i like books?" I asked and he smirked yet again "your eyes lit up when we past the library" he said and i smirked "so you were continuously looked at me whenever we walked past the library?" I asked and he blushed

"N-no, It just happened" he stuttered and I laughed "hey! That's two questions!" He whined and i smirked "Now i get to use two questions!" He beamed and I chuckled "Fire away" i said and he immediately turned serious. I was a bit taken aback- oh shit

"Are you gay?" He asked and I raises a brow "what and why are you asking me this?" I asked "I want to know something more personal- that's three questions" he said and cursed "yes. I am gay" I said as i glared at him "where the hell did you came from- and im asking about country, city, with who, and from what school" he said and i rolled my eyes

"Los Angeles, California. I was with my grandma since my parents died, Granma also died because of cancer so that's why im here" i said and he nodded

"Who is Kyle in your life?" He asked and I froze "he's my cousin's bestfriend" i said vaguely "then why are you so affected when i say his name? Its more than 'just my cousin's bestfriend' bullshit" he snapped and I felt everyone's eyes on me. I snarled "I met him through skype- he was the most innocent person I've ever met" i spat and he growled

"That's 4 questions back to back" i said and he growled "why the fuck do you care!? You hate him, remember!?" I screamed  as i slammed my fist onto the table "You dont fucking know me!" He screamed "YOU DIDNT ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION!" I yelled

Dakota silenced "HE DIED BECAUSE OF ME!" He screamed, his eyes watered and slowly slumped back on his seat "h-he's dead because of me" he said in a shaky voice. I bit my lip as my stomach churned

"Lets go home" I sighed as i took his hand "I-i packed your lunch" the waiter stuttered as he handed us our boxed pizza and a few more Styrofoam boxes "thank you, here. Keep the change" i said as i handed him a thousand bill. He thanked me and i dragged Dakota outside

I helped dakota into the passengers seat and snatched his car keys, he didnt look too worried about that- he looked... lost and down. I sighed as I got into the driver's seat and I drove us back home

"Im sorry" dakota mumbled and i briefly looked at him "its fine Dakota, it's ok" i said, trying to comfort him and he smiled "thanks Blue... c-call me daku" he said and my stomach fluttered "ok daku, sleep" i said and he tiredly closed his eyes and lazily put in his seatbelt. I chuckled and started to hum a lullaby

"Goodnight, Blue" he mumbled too and i gave a relieved sigh "Its noon, Daku" i said and he whined "Goodnoon, Blue" he mummbled and I chuckled

"Goodnoon, Lee" he grumbled and i raised a brow "Lee?" I asked and he grumbled "I love you" i heard him whisper and my stomach churned yet again. To whoever Lee is... I hope he or she is perfect for him...
