Hazel POV:

I woke in a bed this time, the sound of voices muffled, "You had no right! Absolutely no right to do that to my daughter!"

"Lady Sutherland she isn't your child yet." Another voice boomed, "Charles control your wife damn it!"

"My wife." Charles tone was much calmer than the others, barely audible through the door, "is simply looking out for Hazel, who should be at home with us. Not at the consulate."

"She has not been questioned, she-"

"Remembers nothing!" Shrieked Isabella, "she's scared, alone, and is sorely deserving of an explanation! Not to mention a nice hot bath and some sustenance!"

I stood on shaking legs, noting I was no longer wearing a hospital gown but a slip of a dress made of something soft and shiny.

Stumbling a bit I made my way to a small mirror, gasping a bit at my own reflection. I was somehow paler than Isabella. Dark hair limply hanging over my frame and green eyes staring at me perched above two dark circles.

I looked terrible.

Exhausted.

I felt disgusting, grimy, in sever need of a shower.

But since there wasn't one available I shakily grabbed for the wrapped up toothbrush and the toothpaste on the sink.

At least I can get rid of the cottonmouth and the bitter taste there.

And get some normalcy back. This seemed right. Not crazy.

At least until I rose the toothbrush to my mouth and noticed I was sporting four very pointy additions to my otherwise perfectly even pearly whites.

I screamed in shock, falling back.

The door to the room slammed open and I found myself face to face with Charles, "what happened?!"

I shook in his arms looking over to see Isabella enter, her own fangs bared.

They disappeared when she spotted my toothbrush ok the ground, "oh sweetheart..." she murmured, "you weren't supposed to see this way."

I was crying again, Charles -whom by now I was sure I hadn't met before today despite my lack of memory- wiping away my tears with he thumbs. "They will go away." He reassured, "they only come out when you feel strong emotions like anger or fear or if you are hungry."

"This isn't real." I denied shaking my head.

Isabella was on her knees beside me, "we wish it wasn't either Hazel." She stroked my hair like she had in what I thought was the hospital. "If we could change what happened to you we would honey and I promise you that when that vampire who did this to you is caught he will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law."

"L-law?" I asked, staring at her.

"Our society has laws just like humans." She murmured, "but we are a little less forgiving. What that vampire did was highly illegal."

"Changing me?" I asked, my mind still rebelling against the concept.

Isabella looked at Charles nervously.
