I skipped over so many scenes cause of how long this was getting. Also, I completely fucked around with the ending and it makes no sense so uh look out.

"So, Emma, what's up with Mr Black Coffee?" I smiled, watching her face grow red. She threw up her middle finger at me but kept her bashful smile. I had been watching Emma and Paul's interactions since the first day he walked into Beanies. I may or may not have been the one to tip him off about the shop, just so he'd come and meet Emma.

They had undeniable chemistry. Those sweet, awkward idiots. Watching them talk had given me more second-hand embarrassment than anything ever, but I loved it. Emma deserved love, and Paul seemed to be perfect for her.

I often wondered how much longer Emma would stay out of my love life. I'd been meddling around in hers for years, ever since we met back in elementary school, and then with Paul's when I went to Sycamore. I knew Paul would stay out of it, simply because he probably didn't care.

They'd handled my cupid bullshit incredibly well, and even though I've calmed down since then, I still wanted them to find love, and I figured that maybe they'd be a good fit got each other.

The door jingled again, and I looked up from Emma's eye roll, spotting the man who had just walked in. My eyes widened as I realised who it was. This was his fourth visit in two days. I heard a groan escape Emma's lips as she looked over to him too.

"Hey, Y/N." He smirked, and I tried not to look him in the eyes. "One cha-"

"Chai iced tea, I know," I muttered, turning away to get started on his drink, not even bothering to take his money, which he handed to Emma without care. I watched him out of the corner of my eye, noticing how his own gaze didn't leave me.

"Yeah okay, get out of the way, there's a line." Emma deadpanned, watching Ted slink off into the corner. "What a creep." She whispered, only for me to hear.

"He's not, Em," I whispered back, making eye contact with him and offering a small smile which he happily returned.

"He kept staring at you! That's like, grade A creep!" Emma continued, flinging her hands about, almost hitting Ted's finished Chai Iced Tea.

"I know him, Em. He's all good." My smile grew as Ted collected his drink. As usual, he made sure to brush his hand against mine as he took it

"See ya later, latte hotte." He whispered, making sure I was the only who heard. I felt my cheeks grow warm as he left the shop, giving me one final wave on his way out.

Catching Emma's gaze, I noticed her dismayed expression. Her eyes darted between me and the door, her eyebrows furrowed.

"Oh, god, no."

Tears streamed down my face as I ran through the town. Perfect singing echoed from around every corner. It was hard to stay quiet when I wanted to scream at every noise. I hadn't seen what happened in Beanies, but I had seen a Beanies cup with some blue shit spilling out of it so I knew something was wrong. Our coffee was shit, but it wasn't that bad.

I had been late to work due to a lack of buses running, and now that all made a lot of sense.

I wanted to know if Emma was alright. Had she made it out alive? What about Paul? Had anyone made it out alive? Oh god, had Ted made it out alive? Please, let them have lived.

I turned the corner, only to be faced with three of those singing monsters. They hadn't seen me yet, but if I wasn't careful, it wouldn't be too long until I was singing along too.
