"There." Steve pointed to the silhouette emerging from the dense fog.

"I-I don't know." Dustin leaned closer to try and see the creature better.

"There's gotta be more, right?"

"He's not taking the bait. Why isn't he taking the bait."

"Maybe he's not hungry."

"Maybe he's sick of cow."

"That bitch better not be a fucking vegan." Ramona scoffed, scrunching up her nose in annoyance.

Steve stood quickly, followed by Ramona. They shared a look, communicating with their eyes as they walked towards the bus door.

"Steve.. Steve, Ramona, what are you doing?"

"Just.. get ready." Ramona pulled the lighter from her pocket and tossed it to Dustin as Steve opened the bus door slowly.

"All clear." She whispered, stepping into the fog and swinging the pole around. "Fuckin' batter up, am I right?"

Steve gave her a look, causing her to nod her head and purse her lips. "Hombres."

The growling of the creatures caused Ramona's hair to stand up on the back of her neck. Steve whistled from beside her, "Come on, buddy."

Ramona slowly walked deeper into the dense fog. "Come on, you must be hungry."

"Come on, it's dinner time. Human tastes better than cat. I promise."

Ramona gulped as the creature stepped out from the fog and into the open. She squared up her body, digging her heel into the dirt as she raised her pole. "Let's go."

"Steve! Ramona! Watch out!" Lucas shouted, "Three o'clock! Three o'clock!"

"I'm a little busy, here!"

"I got you, Harrington." Ramona turned her head just in time to see one of those things lunging for him She yelped, rushing forward and swinging her pole, sending the creature into the bus.

"Steve! Ramona! Abort! Abort!" Ramona slammed her pole into the body of another. Max's eyes widened as she saw one of the creatures squaring up to pounce on Ramona. "Ramona!"

"Shit, fuck, shit, fuck, shit, fuck,
mierda, mierda, mierda, mierda!" Ramona spoke as she hit away the creatures. A scream left her lips as one of the creatures lunged at her, sinking it's teeth into her arm. Her heart dropped as pain flooded her body. "Harrington!"

Steve turned quickly, his heart dropping as he saw them. The ringing in his ears drowned out Dustin, Lucas, and Max's calls for him. "Fuck."

He ran towards her, taking his bat and knocking the creature away. Before Ramona could even register what happened he was pulling her onto the bus as Dustin slammed the door behind them.

Steve kept a hand clamped around Ramona's wound as she breathed heavily, muttering what he believed to be every curse word in the human language in Spanish.

"Are they rabid or something?" Lucas put a metal piece in front of the door, Steve quickly slamming his feet against it as he tightened his grip on Ramona's arm.

A crashing sound caused him to let go and rush to the back of the bus to kill one of the creatures that had gotten on through the back door.

Ramona shakily raised her left hand and pressed it against her right arm.

"Is anyone there? Mike? Will? God! Anyone? Ramona's hurt." Dustin shouted into his mic, "We're at the old junk yard, and we are going to die!"

"I don't wanna die!" Ramona cried, the banging on the roof beginning to grow louder.

"You're not gonna die!" Steve shouted, his breathing becoming heavy. "Okay? Listen, you're not gonna die. I won't let you."

Max slowly looked up, a scream leaving her lips.

"Out of the way! Out of the way! You want some! Hm? Come get some!"

Steve watched in confusion as the creature slowly backed away before jumping off of the bus. Steve dropped the bat once he knew it was clear and rushed towards Ramona.

Her hand had become stained red. Steve inhaled sharply, shakily ripping part of his shirt off. "Hey, look at me. Look at me."

Ramona shakily drew her eyes from the floor to meet his. Steve slowly tied the shirt above her wound, wincing when he saw it. "You're gonna be just fine, got it? Just fine. Can you walk?"

"I-I.. Uh, I think.. so." Ramona said, slowly standing up. Her knees buckled from under her. "Shit."

"It's okay, it's okay. Lucas, Dustin, help her." The boys nodded, each sliding one of their arms around her waist. They slowly helped her towards the bus door, Max and Steve in front of them.

"What.. happened?" Lucas peered over the bus.

"I don't know.."

"Steve and Ramona scared 'em off."

"No." Steve slowly turned around, taking worried glances at Ramona. "No way.. They're going somewhere."
