The man took her hand in his firmly, looking her in the eyes with a glimmer of amusement in his own. He blatantly looked her up and down, licking his lips slowly. He was checking her out, looking her over right before his son's own eyes. Renee's ears were pleasantly met by the rumble of his voice, "I'm Negan, Renee." He leaned back a bit, his voice raising slightly, "And I have got to say it is truly a pleasure to meet you."

Ryan stepped forward, embarrassment and possibly irritation in his voice, "Dad, please-"

Negan cut him off, dropping Renee's hand and turning to his boy, "Now, Ryan, you know I'm not doing anything to make her uncomfortable." He turned his attention back to the woman, "Renee, forgive me if my comment made you uncomfortable." His eyes roamed her body freely, "I hope no offense or anything of the sort was taken?"

Renee shook her head, still stunned that Ryan's dad was.... well, as hot as Hell. She found words to respond to him, "No, mister Morgan, no offence was taken."

Negan laughed at that, leaning back again, "See?" He gestured to her, a shit-eating grin on his devilishly handsome face, "No offence taken, no harm done. And please, Renee," he addressed her again, "Call me by my first name."

Renee looked to Ryan who was standing off to the side, looking more than a bit stressed out. She looked to Negan, again picking up on the amusement dancing in his eyes as he looked at two of them. Renee nodded, "I'll make sure to do that, Negan."

"Again, see? That's better." He moved back to the stove, "Now we are making progress." Picking up the spatula, he returned to stirring the pot of spagetti before him. He looked over his shoulder at her, still with the same smile as before, "I do hope you like spaghetti, because I myself have an insatiable hankering for it."

Renee laughed at his declaration of his love for spaghetti, "I love it."

"Well good then." He tapped the spatula on the side of the pot louder than necessary, "It seems we will have a great dinner."

Ryan shifted where he stood, stepping forward, "Actually, dad... I didn't know you were cooking dinner... I had reservations for the two of us tonight."

Negan turned his attention once again to his twenty-seven year old son. He pushed at the corner of his mouth with his tongue for a second thoughtfully. Finally, he spoke, "If you were listening to your lovely girlfriend, son, you would have heard her express interest in the best damn spaghetti that she has ever been given the opportunity to taste. So," he held his son's gaze, "I would suggest letting the lady choose between sitting down for a home cooked meal or going out on the town."

Ryan looked between the two of them, Renee seeing his temper starting to rise in his blue eyes. Negan went on, "Maybe she would like to get to finally know me- given you came from my balls." Negan laughed, "And you have been putting off her meeting me for what? The last... year or so?"

Ryan took a deep breath, "I..." He looked to his woman, "Will you follow me upstairs, please? I'll show you my old room."

Renee bit her bottom lip lightly but found herself nodding. She hadn't seen the man she had been dating for the last year act as tense as he was now before. Taking his outstretched hand, she followed him up the stairs of his childhood home and to his old bedroom.

Immediately Ryan closed the door behind them, dropping her hand and running both of his through his tossled brown hair. The young man began pacing back and forth whereas Renee sat down on the old bed there, watching him. "I am so, so sorry about that. That was- I should have never brought you here. I should have never introduced him to you. I-"

Renee cut him off with a light laugh, standing up and placing her hand gently on his arm to get him to stand still. With a smile up at him, she spoke, "What are you talking about?"

He raised his free hand toward the ceiling and let it slam into his thigh when he brought it down, "I'm talking about how he was looking at you out there. He's- he was sizing you up like you were a porterhouse steak. I should have known this would happen."

She pushed aside the thought that first surfaced to her mind. She shouldn't have checked Negan out like she did- or like she wanted to, he was her boyfriend's father. Instead of letting that thought be known, she forced herself to shake her head, "Don't think about it too much, Ry, alright? He seems like he's just trying to mess with you. Get a reaction from you. He seems nice and maybe trying to tease you is his way of getting your mom off his mind." She scoffed reminding herself of something more than him, "He's your dad after all, he isn't really checking me out or trying to hit on me or anything. He wouldn't do anything or take any interest in me, Ry. Common, you're his son, you really think he would do something like that?"

Ryan moved away from her slightly and ran his hand over his face. He let out a long breath, "You know what? You're right. I'm stressed out and I'm making a bigger deal of all of this than what it's worth."

Renee was quiet for a moment, studying him, "Good." She felt as if a weight had been lifted from her shoulders, "We don't really have a reservation for tonight, do we?"

A smile graced his lips, "No."

Renee laughed lightly, "I didn't think so. Now," she grabbed his hand, squeezing it lightly, "Let's go join your dad for dinner."
