Is It Wrong For Io To Guide Bell In The Dungeon?

Prologue

Darkness, why is it so dark? Is this the result of what I did? Am I too be endlessly floating in the abyss of darkness? Does it really matter? Everyone should be protected and fine. I'm sure of it.

Io would drift in darkness her golden eyes glimmer in the darkness she found herself in. A abyss was what greeted her after she created a selfishless sacrifice to save all, at the cost of her own life.

If people are fine and happy then I should be happy as well right? That's how it's supposed to be, yet I feel a tingling of sadness, a feeling of lonelyness, like she still had desire to live.

"So you are here... Wonderful," a voice came from within the darkness as it was slowly slain by the light or a man with orange hair and white overcoat while wearing lime green clothing underneath, his hair was in a ponytail style as well.

"Who are you...?" Io would ask the strange man whom seem to appear out to banish the darkness that was engulfing her surroundings.

"Just a traveler to another. I've seen what you done," he spoke in a soft and gentle tone which would be used to calm down children who were scared.

"...I'm dead right? Then how come I'm here?" Io asked her questions to the man who seem to laugh her questions, which left the savior confused.

"Your body is dead but your mind, the consciousness is here. I've even created a body for you in this very place." He said as he points to Io poking her in between her chest.  As he held a small smile at the corner of his lips.

"The reason why for this...is because I knew you were the right person for this." The man said as he sat down on the floor of the endless white room as Io would look at herself finding out what he had said was true.

I'm the right one? What does he mean by that?

The man would laugh a little as Io had tilted her head in confuion at his reaction, he would wave his hand as he coughed into his hand as to stop laughing.

"Well, my child you are someone who can help guide and protect someone." He spoke patting the ground as Io would slowly come close taking a seat next to him. He would snap his fingers as Io would see a young white haired boy in light brown clothing running down the streets of what appears to be a city.

"Who...is that?" Io asked watching the scene playing out as the city was filled with all kinds of... people.

"That's Bell, a young boy who's life will be filled with many Adventurers, both sad and happy." The man said as he smiled fondly as he spoke of the boy who was seem to be called Bell.

"I see, he seems happy." Io said as she couldn't help but smile herself, as she watched him run down the streets heading somewhere. "Where is he going?" The Revenant asked as the man chuckle.

"He's heading to the dungeon." He said as the scene would change to a very large tower that seem to reach the heaven's, Io would see the city in all its glory. It was a huge place she will give it that but she didn't know it was this big.

"What's is in this dungeon..?" Io asked as she suddenly didn't like the sound of that place, it reminded her of the places she seen in her own world. As the man's smile slowly disappears as he heaved a long sigh putting his hands through his hair.

"I'm afraid the dungeon spawns monsters, even if killed they will appear," He said and before Io could ask he continue with his explanation "think it as this, these monsters are The Lost. His job as a Adventurer is to go risk his life in order to make a steady income, like blood beads in your world but in his, well he collects monster stones which come from monsters after killing them." He said to Io, his hand gently patting hers.

Io on the other hand, already disliked what she learned, she seem to be in deep thought as the man would 'Ahem!' to draw her attention back from her thinking state she was in.

"He's a young boy, only at the ripe age of 14. So he is still a child who is naive but I'm sure with your help you'll be able to guide him. Keep him safe, give him some nice memories, while he may give you some as well in return," he said speaking fondly of them both as if he was proud of her, and him.

"Besides, I wish to give you another chance. And I'm guessing this boy will get into a lot of trouble." He laughed as Io couldn't help but smile a little, "And maybe you'll find a way to stop the dungeon from spawning monsters, it all depends on fate or you...so what do you say? Will you help me Io?" He stood up smiling down at Io with tired eyes that anyone could tell, a face who seen countless deaths, a face who seen death and life of many people both child and man.

"...yes, I believe I would like to. I think they would had wanted me to help them as well." Io said nodding her head to the man as he seem to smile with joy.

"Thank you, also don't worry about becoming a lost, I made sure to adjust somethings about you so you won't go crazy without having  blood." The man laughed a little as Io just tilted his head.

"Now go, a grand adventure awaits you on the other side! Io go help and guide this boy, be their helper, be their comfort! Be their friend! And most importantly, be yourself my dear and follow your own desires, after all you are free to do your own decisions after all." The man said as he smiled one last time as Io felt her consciousness fade to black.

Drip, drip drip

Cold, it was cold. Io had squirm a little as she rose from the cold ground which felt hard as rock. Her eyes saw walls and a path way, she would slowly stand looking from left to right.

"...." Her yellow eyes would scan the area around her as she heard a faint sound, the sound of footsteps one big and one small.

"Uwwaaa!!! Run!" A familiar mop of white hair and a childlike appearance of a boy who had ruby colored eyes, as Io would come to the realization that it was Bell and behind him.

A creature she would had guessed, was a monster. It was huge it's eyes glowed a red which felt like it was ready to kill him if it got him, the feeling she was all familiar with, it was just this worlds equivalent to a Lost and right now she needed to protect the boy.

I'll protect and aid him, even if it means the cost of my own life.
