I added, "And that's where I need help with. I'm wondering if some quotes that I missed when going over it in class can be used for this argument, but I don't know which ones out of the many would work."

She grabbed the play and opened it to the moment that Romeo and Juliet met for the first time. Reading through it, she said, "This whole scene could work for your paper, Seth. If you look at it and read it carefully, you have your argument."

I looked at her and asked, "Really?" She nodded and showed me a passage that Romeo says to Juliet upon first meeting her: " 'If I profane with my unworthiest hand, this holy shrine...' " He looked at me and blushed, "I get it now."

She looked at me and asked, "What are you getting, Seth, that you didn't get before?"

While staring at her, I answered, "I understand what Romeo was telling Juliet when he met her. He had fallen in love with her at first sight, and he knew it." I moved a bit of her gorgeous hair out of her face and said, "Just like I did when I first saw you." She blushed and looked at the table, the rest of her hair falling in front of her face. I pulled her hair away and said, "You don't have to hide your face from me, Y/N. You're beautiful."

She smiled and then her phone went off. Looking at it, she said, "I'm so sorry, I gotta take this, Seth. I'll be right back." Before I could answer her, she ran out of the cafeteria with her materials in hand. Who had called her?

Paul's POV

When I saw Y/N leave the cafeteria, I smiled internally and walked over to Seth, who sat alone with English papers and Romeo and Juliet all around him. I sat next to him and asked, "She left in a hurry, didn't she?"

He nodded and answered, "She had to take a phone call, dumbass. Now leave me alone, I have to work on this paper." He'd taken out his laptop and began writing as we talked; I guess whatever Y/N said to him gave him an idea about this since he's been working on it nonstop for months.

I turned to where Y/N had left and asked, "Who do you think was calling her, man?"

He answered while typing, "Probably her parents checking in on how her day's going. You know how they are with her being in a public school when she's been homeschooled her entire life. They worry about her, and rightly so."

I nodded and said, "Yeah, that or some unknown boyfriend that she won't tell us about." He stared at me, and I said, "What? Tell me you haven't thought about that before now!"

He answered, "I did think that, and I even asked her about it once when we were in English last year. She told me that she didn't have a boyfriend, and I believe her. I wouldn't push her to try and tell you who she's talking to, man. She wouldn't talk to you again if you did."

I nodded just as Y/N came back and sat down in her chair, smiling at Seth and asking, "Hey, guys. What's up?" Seth and I looked at her, and she asked, "What did you guys talk about while I was on the phone?"

Seth answered, "Paul thinks that you have a secret boyfriend and you were talking to him back then. I told him that you said you didn't, but he doesn't believe me at all."

She stared from me to him and said, "You're a fucking bastard, Paul Lahote. I don't have a boyfriend, and I never will have one, since you're so keen on making my life a living hell of testosterone!"

After Y/N ran out of the cafeteria, Seth looked at me and said, "We both fucked up big time." And for once in my life, I was inclined to agree with him. How the hell were we going to fix this?

TIME SKIP MODE ENGAGED!

Y/N's POV

I never would've thought that the two men who I'd been crushing on for months, close to a year, said that I had a boyfriend! Who the hell do they think they are?! Do they think I'm a slut or something? I didn't know, and I didn't plan to know when I got home after school that day. I went up to my bedroom, set my backpack on my desk, and flopped face-first on my bed. My older sister, Charlotte, came in and asked, "What happened now?"
