My hand shakes, as I reach for the doorknob. I look through the eyehole quickly, spotting Zayn with a bouquet of red and pink roses in his hands. His hair is parted on his left side, slightly slicked back, pushing it out of his face. He is practising smiles, as he stares at the door nervously. My god, he's cute.
I open the door slowly, revealing Zayn is a wonderful-looking, black buttoned suit, with a dark grey button down underneath. It takes him a moment before his eyes fix on mine. He takes one deep breath, relaxing his body easily. He sends me a crooked smile, handing me the bouquet.
"Hi," he breathes. He shakes his head, probably thinking, I'm such an idiot. But he's cute, like, really cute.
"Hi," I reply, slipping on the sparkly black heels that I have chosen to pair with the black skater dress Niall had chosen for me to wear.
"You didn't have to be ready yet," he grins.
"I didn't want to make you wait," I shrug.
"Well, uh, I got those, for you, yeah. Heard they were your favourite," he sighs.
"They are," I nod. "Why don't you come in for a moment? I just need to put these in a vase."
I walk to the kitchen, taking the withered flowers from the other day out of the opaque, black and white vase. I fill it up with fresh water, placing the flowers in.
"Shall we?" I grin, reaching up to kiss Zayn's cheek.
"Mhm, let's go then," he smiles, lacing our fingers tightly (oh my god, his hand is so warm and so soft) and leading me back to the door. "Where's Louis?"
"In the living room, with Niall," I sigh. "Would you like to say hi?"
"No, no, definitely not. They're just going to tease us."
"As if they didn't already tease me enough when I was getting ready. Dunno how many times I got told, 'Syd, you look hot, stop freaking out.' It got quite annoying."
"Want me to go knock 'em out for ya? 'Cause I will, definitely."
"No, no, it's fine. It's just part of the whole friendship deal. Are we taking Lou's car?"
"No, my bike is our mode of transportation."
"Alright," I shrug. "The Belleworth House, yeah?"
"Yeah, that's where we're headed."
We start down the stairs, Zayn being one step ahead of me.
"Zayn, you look really handsome, might I say," I smirk.
"God, now I'm blushing," he mumbles, a pink tone taking over his cheeks (and oh my god, please, spare me, Zayn). "You look quite breathtaking. Honestly, I couldn't breathe. You shocked me that much. I wasn't expecting you to look that beautiful. I mean, not that you aren't beautiful, you just looked exceptionally beautiful and yeah, I'll stop rambling now."
"Hey, it's all good. I know what you meant," I chuckle.
"I brought my second helmet this time. So that you wouldn't kill me for being helmetless."
"Finally, you are being safe."
It only takes five minutes to get to the Belleworth House. There's a line out of the front of the joint, making me slightly nervous.
"Zayn, how are we going to get in?" I question, blinking twice to check if it was real.
"Don't worry about it. We have a reservation. Called last night," he laughs, helping me off the bike and locking his helmets on the motorcycle. "We're going in through the back."
