"Hush!" Says Noah as he motions for Marine to follow, "you'll alert the guards!"
"Don't you think I know that, she on the other hand, doesn't" states Marine a she points at a baby in her arms.  Soon after, the baby begins to fuss, the uncertainty of whether she'll burst into tears enters the couples mind, but they don't wait around for it to stick. Noah and Marine quickly head down a flight of  steel stairs and reach the only thing standing between them and freedom, a large metal gate. Even though the gate looks menacing, it swiftly opens at the flick of Noah's wrist. The pair and baby don't waste a second before they are on the other side.
They continue to walk for what seemed like an eternity, and then they reach a building with the word  Orphanage written on the doorway.
Marine turns to Noah with a hint of remorse on her face, he in return gives her a stern determined glance. She pushes away the bit of feeling and walks to the door, with the baby in her arms. Knock knock, seconds after she removes her hand the door swings open and a tall middle aged women comes out.
"Ah yes, I've been expecting you" says the lady as she extends her arms towards the child. "Hand her over"
"Not so fast" says Noah as he takes Marine's side so swiftly he could go un-noticed. "I would like to make sure you hold up your end of the deal, after all we are paying you" he says as he pulls money out of his pockets. The lady looks at the cash with bug eyes and responds, "of course I am, no word of this arrangement should ever leave my mouth, and as far as I'm concerned, the child was left on the doorstep over night"
"Good, looks like we have a deal, oh and before I forget, If you lie, I'll know, and your family will know the time of your passing" says Noah with a smile as he hands the lady the cash. A flash of fear flashes on her eyes before she thankfully takes it from his hands. Marine hands the baby over to the lady, who holds her with great care.
The couple turn around and start heading the way they come from,
"Before you go, does she have a name?"
"yes, Clio"
The lady heads back inside with the baby and that's the last Clio saw of her parents.
On the way home Marine starts to question what her and Noah just did. Everything in her body tells her it's wrong, "run back, get her back" but she keeps her thoughts and feelings to herself. Who is she to go against Noah's decisions, so instead, she turns gives him a kind smile, and spends the rest of the way home, silent, and Clio on her mind.
Noah on the other hand seems okay with what he and Marine just did, and if he's not, he doesn't show it. "It was the only way" He tells himself, after all  a child of two high houses is forbidden, it's existence would disrupt the order of society itself, go against what nature intended. Too powerful. But even Noah wouldn't kill a newborn, instead he gave her away, where no one will know where she came from and what blood runs through her veins. So he pushes away any lingering doubt about his and Marine's actions, and walks on back home.
Noah and Marine reach the front gate yet again, but don't rush to walk in. Instead Noah turns to Marine, gives her a caring glance, something very uncommon for him.
"What's wrong?" ask Marine noticing the strange behavior,
"Nothing, just admiring how amazing you are" says Noah as he strokes Marine's hair.
She was beautiful, big bright eyes full of dreams. Hair as soft as clouds, with its curled shape. But along with her looks, she had a heart so golden and a soul full of joy. One could say a whole package, yet she fell for mystery himself, Noah Sallow. Dark hair, and dark aura. Noah was someone people didn't get along with, he was rude, blunt, irritable, and most of all, power hungry.
"When I first laid eyes on you, I knew you were the one for me, I guess I just wanted to say I love you"
"Aww, I lo...." before Marine finishes her sentence, Noah pulls a knife from his coat, and stabs her in the chest. Swiftly enough, you'd think he'd done it before, he had . As she falls back unable to save herself, she begins to regret ever crossing paths with Noah. She should've have listened, should've stayed away. But what could she do now, now it was too late. So she decides to stop reminiscing, rather appreciating. Even though she'd soon die at his hands, she still loved Noah and spent her last couple minutes replaying their best memories.
"but my dear, you're a wildcard, you lead to much by your emotions, there's no telling what you'll do,  and I simply can't have that. Not if I want to be the next ruler to house Sallow."
Marine's body lands on the floor reaching its final position, as she exhales her last breath. Noah cleans his knife and returns it to his pocket. Wiping away any sign of his involvement. Then he makes his way to the front gate, flicking it open and walking in. He proceeds to make his way to his room, unfazed at the result of his actions, except by the presence of one single tear, because despite what he did. He loved Marine as much she loved him. Now all he had left where their memories, and their shared secret, Clio.
