To most of the Hogwarts population, the Dean sisters seemed untouchable, too perfect to be real. The American girls just seemed to one day appear at Hogwarts, gracing the population with their presence. Nobody, not even their friends seemed to know why they came to Hogwarts or what caused their transfer, creating an air of mystery to the three girls. Although they all seemed impossibly perfect, the three couldn't be anything more different.

Mara, the oldest of the Dean sisters had dark hair, matching another of her sisters, but her vibrant green eyes drew most in, showing nothing but a daunting past that refused to reveal itself. Stevie Dean had matching brown hair and eyes. The middle sister had been the more outgoing of the three, making the other two Dean sisters to break from their shell, but even Stevie had her limits on sharing about her past. Then there was Amelia, the youngest of the sisters with long, flowing, blonde locks. The shy girl rarely opened up and surprises everyone when it is revealed that she has friends of any sort.

So when the next school year rolled around, it seemed like common practice to part the crowd of families for the three girls, allowing them through to the scarlet train. Sirius Black watched as the three girls captivated the crowd of families as they easily glided through, getting on the train and walked in separate directions. The boy had noticed that while they all had a similar air that surrounded the girls, they couldn't have been more different. The boy had actually befriended the middle Dean sister, allowing him to see the other two on rare occasions when the girl brought her sisters to parties. But one thing that Sirius could add to his observations of the Dean sisters were that their parents were never there to see them off. While Sirius had no room to judge as he was currently standing with the Potters and his mother was across the platform, doting on his younger brother, it still seemed odd to the boy.

When it came to Mara's observations of the train station, it seemed like nothing special. Students constantly being hugged by their family, some crying because of how close the student was to their parents. With a quick glance of the platform, the oldest Dean sister could see that her friends weren't on the platform, meaning they had more likely already gotten to their compartment. While she had looked around, the brunette barely made a note that her sister's friends were close by. The only reason Mara noted this was due to one of them staring at the girls; the stare causing Mara to turn around and look at him, Sirius Black. She had to admit the boy was attractive, but the reputation was enough for Mara to stay away, though she didn't have much leniency when it came to reputations, for the girl had an awful one while attending Ilvermorny.

Mara broke their shared gaze to enter the train and find her friends. She had to walk down most the way, ending up near the rear end, but that was better than constantly being annoyed by the sound of hyperactive children running up and down the corridor to find their friends. When the brunette arrived to their designated compartment, she was greeted by her fellow Ravenclaws, with hugs and smiles.

"I missed you so bloody much! Why didn't you write me?" Angelo exclaimed as he gave the girl a hug, only changing the 'me' to an 'us' when Elise hit the boy on his shoulder.

Mara released Angelo and moved to Elise, giving her a hug as the brunette said, "I know I'm a terrible friend but my family doesn't have an owl." The excuse was weak at best but she knew the Ravenclaws wouldn't push it any further.

"Fine, next summer I'm lending you Giuseppe, I'm sure he'd love to spend more time here," Angelo told the girl.

"Okay," Mara smiled at the boy. "So how was your summers?" The brunette asked her friends.

"mine was fantastic! My parents took my siblings and I to Greece for a month," Elise told her friends.

"Hope you met some hot greek men," Angelo told the girl only to receive a blushing Elise in return.

"Looks like she did," Mara teased with a hint of a smirk on her face.

"Not that it's any of your business—"

"—of course it's our business," Angelo cut the girl off.

Elise sent a glare the boy's way but continued, "it's not, but his name is Dimitri and he was one of the most attractive men I've seen in my life."

Mara raised an eyebrow at the lovestruck teen but before she could continue, Angelo continued the conversation, "do you have a picture?"Mara was sure at this point the boy was asking more so for himself than to help judge his friend's taste in men.

Elise frowned before saying, "not with me, I left it back in my room at home."

Mara and Angelo shrugged before changing the conversation. The group of three chatted about anything and everything for at least an hour before Mara's eyes were drawn to someone outside of the compartment. Her everest colored eyes seemed hypnotized as the Ravenclaw watched four boys strutting down the corridor.

Although they were a year younger, it was easy to recognize them even if they weren't friends with her sister. The marauders were always the talk of Hogwarts. Whether it be due to their attractiveness, obnoxiousness, or pranks, Mara wasn't sure, but she just like everyone else had become enticed by the group of boys.

The boy in front, leading the way seemed like he was on a mission, and that was probably to annoy a certain Gryffindor redhead. Following after him was a certain ladies man. Peter and Remus were behind the two boys but Sirius' quick halt caused Peter to run into the Gryffindor.

Mara raised an eyebrow as she noticed that the boy stopped while looking into her compartment, specifically at her. The raised brow turned into a smirk and a wink before turning away, joining her conversation with her friends, not bothering to utter a word towards the girl-obsessed teen.
