WHIPLASH
CHAPTER ONE
THE BOY NEXT DOOR

I guess I had fallen asleep on the way to the new house because I woke up to my mum knocking on the car window. "Wake up!" She ordered. I groaned and got out of the car and began unpacking boxes from the moving van.

"Hi!" A cheerful, high-pitched voice said from behind me. I turned to see a small girl around six years old dressed up in a pink princess dress. "I'm Wanda! What's your name?" She asked, still extremely cheerful.

"My name is Jade," I told her with a smile. I turned around to continue unloading the boxes onto the cart that we had brought.

"Is my sister bothering you?" A guy's voice said from behind me. I turned around to see a boy with a Pink Floyd T-shirt and a silver jacket, along with matching hair. He was about my age, 17, and I have to admit, he was hot.

I shook my head. "No," I smiled at him. "This cutey was just introducing herself to me," I gave her a big smile and turned to the boy.

Man, his thoughts were loud. "Woah..." He said outloud. Why does she think that Wanda's cute? But man, she's hot, what should I do? He thought. Oooh... tell her I'm single, no that sounds to needy, plus Wandas right here! Maybe... Wait, why is she staring at me? That brought me out of my trance. I looked down at Wanda.

"Peter!" Wanda shook the boy who was supposedly Peter. That was when I realized that he was staring at me too. "Mommy is calling!"

"Oh! What?" Peter looked around. "Oh, I'm Peter, and I think my mum wants to talk to me, later!" And with that and a wink he rushed back to what I think is his house to some women who was smiling at him.

She must be his mum, I thought. I wish my mum smiled at me like that, wait, I just wish that somebody smiled at me like that. NO! You cant afford to think like that! Nobody likes you! You are just some random person who nobody likes! And with those thoughts, I walked into the house with a cart of boxes in tow, however all I was thinking about now was the boy next door.
