Child of the Radio Demon

Chapter 2

Before we could ask if either of us felt the same feeling, Daniel showed up and pushed Kathy into the arms of another boy and me into another, and he was beating up Thomas. He wanted something from Thomas which was the small watch around his arm that his grandfather gave him before he died, so Thoams said no that it was too important to him. So, Daniel got more aggressive even pulled a knife on him. I couldn't take it any longer so I bite the hand of the boy holding me, he, of course, recoiled in pain. I took that chance to slightly jump so I headbutted him in the nose, while he was too busy on the cement in pain I took that chance to run to Daniel and Thomas. Once I got there I tried to wrestle the knife away from him but due to him being way older than me and stronger he overpowered me stabbed me somewhere but I wouldn't have time to look down to see where he stabbed me cause Daniel then pushed me into the road. Daniel stabbed Thomas in the arm to try to make him give him the watch but Thomas kicked him in the knee which caused them both to fall over, Daniel got on top of Thomas and made sure that his arms were held down. He then held the knife over his head and was about to stab him again, it made me really angry and told him to stop but he wouldn't. I felt so helpless I couldn't do anything he was gonna die because I couldn't help I was just as banged up as Thomas. All of a sudden Daniel's head was cut clean of by something unseen, his blood falling on Thomas' coat and Kathy and my faces. The boy holding Kathy's arm was broken in an instant freeing her. She ran to Thomas helping him up but trying not to touch his wounded arm. I sighed in relief knowing that he was ok but was still frozen knowing that Daniel was just beheaded in front of all of us. Everything was blurry and fuzzy  I could barely process what just happened I was so caught up in my thoughts that I didn't notice the car heading right for me, Kathy and Thomas tried to warn me but it was too late. I closed my eyes and guarded my face so it wouldn't hurt as bad, but nothing happened when I opened my eyes I was on the sidewalk with my friends. They were just as shocked as I was but we didn't have time to be shocked. I got up and helped Kathy and Thomas up I told them that we needed to get to the hospital and they seemed to agree with me. Luckily the hospital wasn't that far. We walked inside and the secretary said hello to me since my daddy worked her but when she looked up she saw all of us bloody. Her smile faded and she called for more doctors to help. Two male doctors, I didn't know grabbed Thomas from Kathy and me and put him on a stretcher and rolled him away. As soon as things calmed down a little I became light-headed and collapsed as I looked down there was a ton of blood coming from my stomach. I could barely hear anything other than Kathy's cry for help as she held my hand. I then felt two arms pick me up and put me on a stretcher as well but, I was reaching for Kathy and I felt her being put next to me on the stretcher. The last thing I saw was Kathy smile at me than she blacked out with her hand still in mine. When I woke up I was in a hospital room in a hospital gown with a bandage around my stomach under it and Kathy sleeping right next to me in the same bed and in the other bed next to us was Thomas sleeping. There was a knock on the door, I told them that they could come in and Doctor Johnson came in. I knew him because he was a close friend to my daddy even before I was born. He walked up to me and put his hand on my forehead. Once he was done I put his hand on my shoulder and asked if I was ok and if I was feeling any pain at all but all I could do was nod my head for the first question then shake my head for the second one. Before he could say another word daddy came running into the room. He was breathing heavily and coughing a little like he was running to get here. Once daddy caught his breath he came over to me and hugged me gently trying not to hurt my boo boo, as daddy and I were hugging Kathy and Thomas woke up confused like I was when I woke up. Daddy let go and walked over to her side of the bed and once he was done with her he went to and did the same thing uncle john did with me. After they were done checking on her they decided to ask questions. They wanted to know what happened to Thomas, Kathy, and I; they wanted to ask us so they can talk to the police if needed. We were all silent, how were we supposed to answer. We all looked at each other in fear and confusion, but then Thomas cleared his throat and said that he would tell them what happened to us. Both of them looked shocked and horrified at the same time, they then asked if we knew why Daniel did this to us. Kathy answered this time due to Thomas getting uncomfortable with talking about it. She told them about how Daniel wanted Thomas' watch and that he was willing to kill for it. She explained what happened to her and me how she was being held and I was thrown in the road, she then told them about Thomas getting stabbed in the arm. As she told them I was getting really angry and once she told them about Thomas getting hurt I couldn't handle it anymore, right as she said that the lights suddenly flickered. Daddy and Uncle John were shocked by how the lights did that but before they could say anything one of the nurses said that the police were here. There were a few moments of silence until daddy cleared his throat and said that he would be out in a minute she nodded her head then left the room. Daddy walked over to me and kissed me on the forehead and told me to wait with my friends and that he'd be right back. I nodded and he smiled, then daddy and uncle john walked out of the room. When they left they finally had a moment's peace, so I asked if both of them were ok, before I could get an answer Kathy grabbed my face and looked deep into my eyes. It was making really uncomfortable, she then looked at Thomas and gave him a thumbs up. He sighed and told me that he was fine and Kathy said the same thing. Before I could ask why they did that they answered for me they told me that when Daniel was about to stab Thomas again my eyes went red and that is when Daniel's head got cut off by something we didn't see. My eyes went wide and before I could say anything the door opened to reveal two police officers. Daddy and Uncle John came in behind them then shut the door. Daddy told all of us to tell the police the same thing that we told them. So, we did as commanded and we all told them our side of the story but none of us told them about the mysterious red eye glowing. Once the police got what they wanted they left without an issue or more questions. An hour later Thomas's mom came into the room and asked if he was able to go home when the nurse said yes she didn't hesitate, she told both of us goodbye as did Thomas and they left. After Thomas left Kathy and I turned in the T.V and started to watch cartoons to get our mind off of what just happened. An hour of us doing that and a nurse came in and told Kathy that both her parents were downstairs she nodded and hugged me and told me that she would hopefully see me tomorrow. I was all by myself now it felt weird and wrong, I never liked being in hospitals due to me being a tough birth and getting really sick all the time. After three more hours Uncle John came into the room with a get well balloon and some toys, he even brought me McDonald's. He sat on the bed with me I asked him if I was gonna get in trouble again, due to him doing this when I was sick in the hospital. He said no that he was now off of work and that he would stay here with me until daddy was done with work. For the rest of the time, we were playing games, watching movies, as well as eat the McDonald's he brought for both of us. Another two hours go by and daddy walks through the door. He was shocked that Uncle John was still here but Uncle John said that why wouldn't he stay here with his favorite niece, I smiled at the response and he ruffled my hair. Daddy said that he would take it from here and that Uncle John should be heading home now. Uncle John gave me one last hug and told me that he would visit me. Once he left daddy grabbed the stuff Uncle John brought for be and went to the car then came back to get me. He carried me all the way to the car and buckled me into my car seat. It was silent as we drove home all that could be heard was the radio. Once we got home mommy was there in the living room to hug both of us and kept asking me questions. Daddy told her to settle down that I had a long day and that I should get some rest as well as to not reopen my wound. Daddy put my stuff in my room while mommy hugged me and was crying a little. Daddy then came over to mommy and me, he handed her my pajamas then she helped me put them on. After she was done she hugged me again and was petting my hair. Mommy then kissed my forehead and told picked me up to put me in my bed. Daddy and Mommy kissed me on the head and said goodnight and to get some rest. After an hour of sleep, I was awoken but a green light suddenly appearing underneath my closest door. I was scared at first but I felt drawn to it like a magnet. I got out of my bed and slowly walked to the closet door then opened it. As I did the light stopped and revealed a small red box with a nice black bow on the top. I was hesitant but I opened it and in the box was a little deer stuffed animal. I loved it, I really liked deers I found them really cute. I hugged the stuffed deer and it made me feel better and safe. In the box was a note but I couldn't read yet but I could ask mommy what it said so I would ask her in the morning. I was really tired so I put the box back in the closet and grabbed chestnut which is what I named that deer and climbed into bed and went to sleep.
