the cover is the first thing viewers look at. especially when its in their libraries. you don't just want them to add it to their libraries and lists you want them to read right?
there are different types of covers you can make. you can just use a picture of the person the fanfic or you can make one. i recommend these apps: picsart or vsco.
when you make a cover you can do alot or you can do little. for example here is one that has alot of detail

now, i dont prefer these because you kinda cant read some of the text. i like to get straight to the point but other people do like this. so if you like it, you do it.

what i did here is i took a picture i found on google and put it on a blank yellow picture. then i put the words on it. after that i took it to vsco and put grain on the photo and dimed it. this used to be very bright colors. its probably one of my favorite covers ive made. back when i was very into making covers. you could say my covers were better than the story itself. or you could call it clickbait lol.

the picture was meant to be drawn by the protagonist. similar photos were in the book that had been drawn by the protagonist.
make your cover unique. if people ask you later why you chose those picture you want to have deep meaning right? or even when they ask why you made that plot or why you made the title go with the cover and plot.
